I'm a vegetarian and even I'm impressed with this place. Friends and family have loved everything we have gotten here from the hand-made sausage to all kinds of cuts of meat. Service is consistently friendly and helpful and they don't mind answering questions or making recommendations. A great place to go if knowing exactly where your meat came from is important.

M.F. Dulock is hard to beat for fresh meat. It's a beautiful shop that sells choice meat. You can't make a more responsible and delicious choice. They source all their meat locally. They are educated in the craft of butchery and understand food-centric people and all our quirky needs. Worth the effort and the costs. I used to shop at Savenor's until I found this place. They aren't a commodity purveyor, so they may not always have what you thought you wanted, but they are able to recommend substitutions, that I can verify work. I also note, the shop is small, so no broths, lards and other convenience products -- maybe one day (hint).

My vegetarian girlfriend only eats meat from here. 'Nuff said. Okay, maybe a few more words: try the beef jerky when it's available, and the smoked pork jowl, and any of the inventive, regularly rotating house-made sausages, and the whole pigs head (low and slow). Ask as many questions as you'd like. The staff is among the most knowledgeable in the business.

I really like this place. I came to get some beef liver, which they didn't have. About to be bummed, they offered up lamb liver. Success. The guy was really easy going and friendly, and I ended up getting the liver, some ground beef, and lamb bones. Next time: bangers and maybe pork belly?
