We adopted the most amazing dog from this shelter. Every single person we encountered there was so kind and very knowledgeable with all the questions we had. They also give you so much support post adoption with exams and neutering/spaying. Could not have been happier with our time here and so glad we came when we did!

A dog showed up in my neighborhood and I tried calling the numbers on the tag but they didn’t work so I called animal control. Animal control asked if we could bring the dog in but it was way too large to fit in my boyfriends car and could have fit in my SUV, but was so spastic it would have definitely done damage to my vehicle which I know no one would help fix. Animal control asked us to just keep it contained and they’d send someone over to pick the dog up. We tried keeping him in the garage but he started body slamming the door so we opened that before he broke it. After about half an hour I called animal control back asking about what time someone would be here because we had to go to work soon. They told me they don’t have anyone to come get him so our only option was to bring the dog down ourselves, which I already expressed wasn’t really an option. I reiterated how we cannot do that and will just have to let the dog back outside by the time we have to roll out for work and she kept insisting. Absolutely unacceptable to tell someone you’re sending someone over when apparently you don’t currently have any employees. Completely and utterly unacceptable.

My family adopted a dog from ACC, and it was the best decision we ever made. They are the sweetest dog, loves to play, and are exceptionally trained. The only downfall was their paperwork said they were nurtured before the adoption, which it turned out they weren't. We wish we had this information before the adoption. But we love them to death!

Staff and volunteers are awesome! Adopted my Shiloh from here when she was 6 months. Her previous name was Delilah. The process of adoption was quick & easy! Make sure to get your new pet have the vaccines and evaluation needed, & bring the certification to the center so your adoption fee will be refunded! Whatever pet you adopt, for sure it will bring you joy, therapy and good company. They can make your house messy with all the furs/hairs & ripped stuff toys or socks! But the love this new family member gives you is priceless! Thanks to all the staff, volunteers, supporters & friends of the Animal Care & Control Center! Keep up the great work!

No I haven’t but my friend saw a cat 🐈 just like what you are describing 😱

I live very close to this address, 6 minutes, but have spent hours driving through the area without finding the shelter, including asking people where it is. What sign or indication does one look for. Put it on a building or door somewhere!.

It's the road on the East side of the street off Elmore. Between Tudor & MLK Drive. Go down that road toward the old APD substation / AACC. Follow to the end, on the right side there is a fork the left fork goes to the back of the building & night drops. The right side goes around to the parking lot & front door of AACC. There are signs to follow down the road. Good Luck 😊

How much does it cost to adopt a dog? Like 50? 100?
