I randomly decided to Google these guys - a store with this name was my goto place for audio (all analogue back in those days) in the late 70s/early 80s. Lo and behold, it's the same logo and I even recognize the aquamarine shelf motif. I vaguely remember the store being first called "Student Discount Center" and located off of Thayer Street on the 2nd floor somewhere. They then changed their name and moved down the street. My Dad used to special order stuff from these guys too. I used to get my cassettes, portable stereo items, phono carts etc from these guys. I remember getting Audio-Technica yellow-belly carts LOL. Sony ES, Maxell (UD)XL tapes etc. This was all pre-digital. By the time the digital revolution came about, I was already half way across the country. The names I remember were John (owner), Curtiss, and Kelly. Lots of time spent there - and also browsing the record stores in the same general area. I haven't been back to RI in years, but for sure, I'll stop by. Lots of happy memories back then - and it's good to see the tradition is still alive and well.

This place is a priceless gem! I have had speakers, a turntable, and a pretty complicated integrated amp repaired with excellent results and a fast turnaround each time. the price for repairs was very good, and service is friendly and top notch. If you are into vintage audio you need check these guys out. from vintage Mid Fi, to real high end stuff! you never know what will walk through the door on any given day. I just wish a list of what was in stock would be published on the store website because I live an hour away. Also the owner is a wealth of knowledge about all things HIFI, which is very helpful. I am very happy that this store is around! Long live Stereo Discount!

First and foremost - if you need a new audio setup of any variety and/or need to repair or update your equipment - GO NO PLACE ELSE! Stu (owner) and Scott form a tremendous team and I am so thankful for their work and service for my turntable. I get to enjoy countless hours with my setup and the entire experience was as straight forward as they come - these guys are simply THE BEST!

He usually has some needles.
We require masks and we have been keeping a limit of under 10 people in the shop at any given time. Thank you for asking. I hope this helps.
Hi Celia, What days and times work for you? Thanks, Stu
