It really varies township to township and even then the DOT could get a special permit I would call the town you live in and ask. I am answering on personal knowledge and not for NJSP. But its hard to please everyone some people sleep at night, some work at night and sleep in the day. Most public and private contractors are reasonable, if you speak to someone working on your street for a long extended time maybe something could be worked out. If you see navy blue and yellow trucks, JF Kiely or Earle Asphalt... The employees from both companies are very respectable and professional.
