Fantastic portion sizes, plan on take out there's only a few tables... The food was absolutely delicious. We called them on the phone when we were still in Maine because all of the places there were just so darn expensive. Will definitely be back if we're ever in Massachusetts again.

Went here for lunch when visiting A supplier of mine. I got the scallops and they were excellent. My buddy got the Fisherman's Platter and loved it. Good portions price is reasonable. I'll be back that's for sure! Five Stars if the seating area had been a little nicer.

I took my family and some friends visiting from Virginia to the Ipswich Clambake today for lunch. It was my first visit and honestly I was a little nervous because when I tried the other seafood restaurant nearby it took three hours from lining up to getting food! The Clambake was an all-around excellent experience. The staff was patient while we sized up the menu with kids. The food was ready shockingly fast, dishes were coming out by the time I retrieved water bottles from the car. I was pleased with all of the food. Portions were great, especially the lobster roll. All of the fried seafood was crispy and not oily. I love when fries are clearly made from real potatoes. The vegetable sides were simple but had compelling complex flavors (the bright flavors of the beet and cucumber salads cut the fried flavors nicely). The fried food came with a generous amount of tartar sauce that is clearly made in-house. Our only regret is that we didn't try the onion rings or the Reuben. Fortunately, there will be a next time.

Wife and I were served by the owner (I believe) made a big point of making sure we felt welcome and took very good care of us. We sat in and ate the platter meal and the salmon both were excellent. I will say the tartar sauce wasn't the best I've had but it wasn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. Overall a great experience.

Ipswich Clambake | Sep 2, 2021

All staff have masks and gloves. All surfaces are regularly cleaned. Access to shared surfaces are restricted. Tables have been distanced to at least 8 feet or more and capacity has been limited. We also have high air flow to reduce likelihood of any aerosols lingering in the air. We also offer curbside pickup.

That was thankfully closed long before our new ownership took over. Our only restaurant is the one in Ipswich.
