This Big Y on 1A in Norwood is my favorite store. They follow strict guidelines for infection contol and everything is so well organized. Staff are friendly and helpful. Great values on groceries, meats and produce. Highly recommended!

Ok but they need more cashiers open. Only two cashiers and one is 14 or less. That's why I never go in there. Stop & Shop has 12 self serving ones open and 4 to 6 real cashiers at 4:30 pm on a weekday. It's to bad I enjoy the bake goods at the big y - but I don't have 2 hours to kill on the way home from work.

Big Y Market offers a great selection of foods, baked goods and other standard foods. What sets them apart is their selection of hot prepared foods from pizza, to sea foods to pasta dishes. I have been to many functions where the host will get the ready to eat foods for the party - including a huge party pizza and it is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful. The tone of the store is local with a focus on community.
