Visited here when my family was ready to adopt a cat.although at that time the few kitties they had were promised to other nice family's. We were disappointed but we're happy to know those adorable kitties were going to permanent homes The staff was very helpful and friendly.Told us to check back in a week or so, but we ended up finding 2 linex point siemease kitties, brother and sister at Dakins and the rest is history!!!!

This is a great place filled with amazing staff! We run a wildlife rescue and they're always happy to contact us and get us injured Turtles. Thanks to their hard work many turtles have gotten a new lease on life and recovered from massive injuries.

Jennifer baer baer. I am sorry that your experience with our shelter was so unpleasant. While writing your review you should have explained why you had to go to the shelter 3 times. The 1st time was to identify your dog. 2-To pay for a rabies shot because your dog was not current on rabies vaccine. 3.- To pick up your dog to take him home. What you also neglected to say was that your dog was missing for several weeks and had ample time to get fleas. We also noticed that he had fleas UPON ENTERING the shelter. We treated him for fleas, at no cost. We are glad that your dog is back home, but please don't put any of the blame on the shelter. If your dog was current on rabies vaccine, which is required by law, he could have gone home immediately. Have a great day!

Westfield Animal Shelter is probably what you are looking for.

Does this place have kittens? I hear that they don’t.

It all depends. Sometimes they do. Sometimes they don't. You can look their available animals up on their Facebook or Petfinder pages.. Though your better off calling the shelter directly during open hours to see what's available.

Kim, I'd suggest you call them directly so they can get any additional needed information to help make an appropriate suggestion.

Do you take in pets that owners can no longer care for?

Andrew Tallarita | Sep 3, 2018

I can't speak directly for the shelter. I think that it would be best to call them and explain the situation. The staff there are awesome, and will be able to give you a better idea what your options would be.
