I give Michael’s a 2 star reviews based on the fact that I am a knitter, a crocheter, and I love cross stitch. Michael’s is not very useful for any of those crafts. Their yarn selection is limited as far as fiber variety and brands. Even if they have a particular brand of yarn, the color selection is extremely limited (Patons Kroy sock yarn…recently saw about 6 color options.) Lots of acrylic in bright colors, which are great for teaching a younger child, but not for most experienced crafters who have moved on from crafting novelty items. Based on yarn selection and very limited amount of patterns for all of the crafts I mentioned, I feel that Michael’s could be doing so much better. As the line goes, if you build it they will come. I do shop there once in a while because there is one in my town, but I usually have to settle for something other than what I was looking for, or walk out empty handed.
