Non hikers- family vacation of 18 went on this hike from ages 12 to 64. We all enjoyed it, some more than others. We were hoping to see a bear but did see deer, birds, and other smaller animals. Oh wait, we saw a rattlesnake! Crazy scary but super cool. Beautiful views and great pictures. Trails were nice but rocky and did find ourselves looking down.

Nice easy to access area. I started from the parking area next to Claymore Lake taking the Michaud Spur up to the top of the ridge, and back down. I think it was around 1.5 miles each way. It was quite hot today but the breeze at the top was a nice reward!

Very nice reservoir to relax or hike down to it and enjoy the beutiful views. What more can you ask for? How about a beach that you can go down to it and walk! Enjoy!

Great area for an easy hike/bike with a couple of intermediate slopes and panoramic views! There are some nice spots to see the reservoirs along the way, as well as a couple of ridgeback meadows perfect for finding deer, etc. Be prepared to hike along rock and occasional mud, which may be frozen in winter months!

Yes, there is camping in nearby Lory State Park along with other spots along Horsetooth Reservoir and a KOA C.G. a mile or 2 east.
Agreed Luke. You also gain upwards of 500 ft in elevation when hiking to that highest point with the view. One of my favorite areas close to FoCo!
