My wait time to get a title transferred was almost 3 hours. The wifi only works for computers so if you plan to wait there, bring that instead of relying on a phone. They do send text messages when it is close to your turn and when it is exactly your turn. Be prepared to wait a long time for any service provided. It is air conditioned well and I was able to go to another floor to study. It is what it is but don't expect a quick trip.

1. Come as early as you can they open at 8 am be here 30 minutes early to make line . 2. Arm yourself with lots of patience if you come more late . 2. Check that you bring all your documents if is for just sticker of the registration don't lose your time here go to a tomb tumb store to get it , more easy and fast , if is for title change or plates get the application in the entrance they have it or print it in the website. 4.for more information you can call or visit the website. 5. I got my ticket at 8:26 , but for some reasons didn't get the chance to use , the get another ticket at 9:56 and wait till 12:15 to get attended, I spend half day in the county tax office. Six months ago, I wrote a scathing review about how, as a wheelchair user, I was treated horribly. And I see other people posting about the same issues I dealt with (rudeness, told to come back for the smallest thing, not helping me solve issues, giving wrong info). That original post seems to have disappeared, but I’m nothing if not fair. My visit this time could not have been better. First, you are just as likely to encounter a very short line as a very long line. I’ve seen both. As a wheelchair user renewing my placard, I was escorted to the front of the line. I waited about five minutes for my number to be called, and my business was completed immediately without being given the run around. Everyone was very professional and accommodating. I don’t know if they’ve had some new training on ADA, but even though it was a long-line day, I had no troubles whatsoever. Credit where credit is due.

Not too bad, wait times seem to run between 30-45 min when I was there. Staff are friendly and helpful. Overall I'm satisfied with my visit.

You may file for a certified copy of the title here, however they will not give you a copy of it. The certified copy comes from Austin.
You can certainly register your new car. I've never been in the states website but these days most forms can be found online. It's a busy place. I suggest you get there early. It on the first floor of an office tower and the driveway is right before Hillcrest do don't blink.
You have to bring it into the office along with your doctor's note. They hand you your placard right there.
No you don't. Just go in there and the securities will give you a ticket number that starts with Letter "T". The waiting time is usually lesser for title applicants.
You can bring the doctor's script, your ID or DL and here at this location you can fill out the application, form VTR-214 (you can get this at www.txdmv.gov/forms)
No
No. This is auto registration and county taxes only. Carrollton Texas has a department of public safety office that's close.
Yes. This is the only place. You will need a doctor's prescription the first time. Unfortunately it quite a walk from the handicap parking and the actual office. Also, ask the security guard for a handicap ticket. It's a different area. Your number will start with an H. Lots faster too. Good luck.
no - that is a different office. Google "department of public safety."
Vehicle registration, title transfer, passport applications
No you can not take the written driver license test there....
I just brought my insurance and inspection. It was fine. I may have had my TXDL too.
Yes you can.. youi might want to call the tax office main number before you go so they call tell you what to bring so you will not have a wasted trip...they are redoing the building so be prepared to stand in line and wait for your turn...
Yes you can... If you are getting your first set you have to have the Dr sign the DMV form which they should be familiar with and also have a prescription written by the Dr...
Any day of the working weekdays
Yes you can and ask to be sent to where you can get your plate picked up
I went 2 weeks ago without an appointment, they take care of the documents you say you have are the ones you need
Yes, I would recommend coming in earlier in the day, before 11am, the wait times are usually the shortest
No
Yes you can
This location is a Govt building that house different govt offices such as passport office, Constable etc. For the Tax Office location. It's on the ground floor, just go in thru the main entrance, keep to your left hand side and walk straight in. The security will attend to you, direct you and give you the ticket according to your purpose of visit. The process is smooth, fast and easy. Prepare to spend between 15-30mins here if you go early in the morning.
What forms do I need to transfer title
It's open to the public go there but be ready to wait for a long long time
No, its not for passport.
I believe they are closed for face to face transactions
So I just come and wait my turn?
The office is closed to public but it is doing most everythingthrough the mail and online right now. It is even extending some registration but you can go to Dallascounty.org for more info on that.
Get it inspected and then take the title and inspection paper to the tax office and you'll get an application for title there. They make it easy
The only other things you need are an inspection and the application for title that they have there
Did your renewal offer a mail in option? I've lived in Texas my whole life and a mail in has always been an option. A copy of your insurance card a check and a nominal fee is usually all that's required. Good luck
no you would need to go to the DMV in Carrolton.
Yes, you can
Yes
Yes. You have to fill out a form to say the vehicle isn't in your possession any more. You can also do it online.
