I've been coming to Centre Street Food Pantry for over a year now and I'm so grateful to be a client there. The sign-in process and shopping system set up is incredibly organized, and they let shoppers take food according to family size. The volunteers and staff are extremely hospitable - I'm always greeted with a bright smile at the door and have come to recognize many of the volunteers, who recognize me as well. The CSFP respects my privacy as a shopper and a person in financial need, while maintaining a cheerful, friendly vibe. One of the best things I like about CSFP is that there is a constant variety of items available to take. In addition to shelves of dry goods and canned vegetables, this pantry offers a large selection of seasonal fresh produce, local bread, household and cleaning items, personal products, and my favorite - refrigerated items, including dairy products, milk, meat and eggs. There are often dairy-free and soy-based products to opt for as well. Getting to CHOOSE which items I take home from a wide selection makes such a difference to me - it's difficult maintaining a healthy diet on a very limited budget. A huge weight is lifted off of my shoulders when I leave the pantry with up to two weeks worth of food - I am so lucky to be part of this outstanding organization!
