If into the archives you go, only pain will you find. If you remember the late 90s, Barnes and Noble was the coolest chain in the US. Coffee, great books, fun toys, but overhead, overhead, overhead. Oof. I get a knot in my stomach everytime I go into Barnes and Noble. Whenever I see the failed Nook logo. I silently calculate the cost of inventory per store, the hourly wages, utilities, and I wonder, 'Is this the last time I'll visit?' Not that I dont want to have a Barnes and Noble, but I find myself needing to visit the store less and less frequently. A year will go by. Then another before I'll bust a u-turn and force myself to go inside. Then the painful calculus begins again, whats cost of the inventory, the wages, the utilities. It can't hang on forever.

I went in looking for quilt magazine not finding much but my son bought 2 of the 9 books he wanted.

This is probably the worst Barnes and Noble in New Hampshire. Small and tight parking lot. The store itself is smaller than others despite being two stories which means limited selection of books. One person on registers up front with a line. One person working starbucks with 12 people in line. Restrooms are dirty and run down and a worker didn't wash her hands after using the toilet and was immediately back out helping a customer. So gross. Save yourself the frustration and order online or hit up Manchester.

Well organized and well stocked. Wide collection of books and magazines. Mamy tables with dicounts. Magazine rack sloppy. Presence of Stabucks is a negative. Excellent children's section area. Escalators between floors. Good customer service. Very comfortable for looking and reading space. In strip mall visible from the road.
