After reading the comments I was scared to go to these offices but to my surprise everything was much better and nobody was abrupt or anything like that and the security man is very kind and attentive even in one he wanted to speak in Spanish when one person who did not speak much English had a very loud phone and told him... bajar teléfono please...😅😂 in short, my experience was very satisfactory

I went to the SSA in Sarasota with all my information, I did have an appt. Apparently I didn't have the "Certificate" of marriage but had the original Marriage License, Ms. Grazia stated she would check the "Internet" for the certificate and would call with the results, she made copies of all my needed information. Today, a week later, I called and spoke to a woman who had no clue what I was talking about and after 15 minutes on the line with her the called was cut off and so far no call back from her this was in reference to a name change. I called the Venice office to see if they could help me and was told everyone was busy call later, goodbye. Very disappointed with the service from the SSA, very disappointed!

TERRIBLE!!!!! We are a year into the pandemic and they still cant be open and function normally! Waited weeks for an appointment and they wouldn’t let me into the office someone called me at my appointment time only to give me information on how to complete the process of changing my last name, which they could have given me weeks ago when I called the first time!!!! and then I didn’t even get the email with the forms!!!

They were accepting walk-ins last time I went about 3 weeks ago
They are accepting walk-ins now I believe
You can go there with out an appoinment
Call for an appointment
yes, you need to call them 9:00 am and get one, be patient.
If you need to meet with an agent, make an appt. If you're dropping off a document, seal it in an envelope & drop it in the box on the wall on the 3rd floor. It will suck it in so nobody else can get at it.
I think you can
I was told everything is online
Either by phone or online
Yes I tried to walk in and was told I needed to make an appointment but they are fast I talked to someone at Venice location today and have an appointment tomorrow..
You have to call the 800# that's on their door and sit on hold to speak to them
Not to general public. You can call..
Yes, you will need to set an appointment before you go
No,call first emergency appointments only they can help answer your question and probably do it over the phone.

They may still have "Ticket to Work"", which is like a trial work period where you can earn a certain amount within a certain period of time & it won't effect your SSDI check.
Walk in with government ID. They will give you a receipt you can use until your replacement one arrives in about a week
Medicare is a Federal program and you apply for or make changes to at the Social Security office. Just walk in register at the kiosk, take a seat and wait for your number to be called.
You can just walk in. You don't need an appointment. You may have to register and wait maybe an hour to see a agent. It is difficult to get an appointment.
Its probably pretty busy during this time of day...people on their lunch break, trying to get it done before friday...I would either just put the phone on speaker and wait, or call back in about an hour or 2.

I believe once you remarry you aren't eligible for your previous husband's social security, but you could double check with them.
