2b/2b and I pay 260 or more a month, and i'm never home, the power goes out constantly and it takes forever to come back on. Terrible customer service. I hate this company.

I have a 1br/1bath 600sqft apartment and im paying between $150-$160 a month. I work 40+hrs a week, I unplug everything but the fridge unless I need to use it, I keep my water heater turned off until needed, only electronics I have is a PC that remains off unless im home. Its just insane how much you have to pay to this company to use such little electric. On a side note when I went to setup my account with this place, I had to fill out this application. No biggie, however when I showed the guard I finished the app he checked a box that I refused to check that said I allow them to sell my information to other companies. I crossed it off and wrote void on it, than requested another one to fill out. The lady at the counter than checked the box and refused to let me have the app back. 2 days later I start getting spammed with phone calls from telemarketers and scam calls.

1 bedroom 1 bath apartment with the ac turned on to 76 only at night, work most of the day so electricity isnt being ran all day, payments are still $150. I know people who have duke or seco that have 4 bedroom houses and have the ac run year around and pay less then me, ocala electric is nothing but criminals. Update: still same situation, except bill has risen to roughly $200 a month. Time to start looking to move.

their pay as you go electric is the dumbest gimmick i have every witnessed. You can add more money to the account via credit card, but that of course takes 2 business days. Moneygram online will let you add money, if the service actually works. Yesterday I had to go out to a check cashing store just to add more money to my electric account I get that maybe in the past ocala electric has been ripped off by customers, but really PAY AS YOU GO ELECTRIC?! They tell me I can opt out, but im sure theres an astronomical fee involved in getting a paper bill at the end of every month.

Questions & Answers

I may be in the wrong place. If I am, would you direct me to the right place? I would like to obtain a map of the city streets of Ocala. I "clicked" on several selections, on the internet, and didn't quite get the results I wanted.

Because you live inside city limits, your bill will have more than just electric services. A lot of factors determine your bill. What temperature do you set the AC too or the heat? Do you turn lights off or leave them on? How many people are in the home? The list goes on and on of variables. If you call the City of Ocala, just ask what the average bill was when you find a place to live. Welcome to Ocala.
