Strawberry short cakes have been my favorite type of cake since I was a kid and I've had way too many through the years. After trying Kyj's last week, I have found my favorite strawberry short cake of all time. While talking to a friend about my wife's birthday plans, he suggested I try Kyj's strawberry short cake. With my wife's birthday the next day, I figured I'd call to see if there was any chance I could get a cake on such short notice. To my surprise, they said it wouldn't be a problem. My wife and I absolutely loved the cake. Even our five-year-old daughter who has never enjoyed a single cake unless it's an ice cream cake ended up eating a fairly large slice. The cake wasn't too sweet, wasn't too dense nor too fluffy, and the strawberries were fresh. My only complaint is that they could not fit a happy birthday message due to the way the cake was decorated. We might need to start celebrating more than just birthdays so that we can have an excuse to have more of Kyj's strawberry short cake!
