Enjoyable guided tour of this historic house and the area's history.

I'm born and raised in Eustis and after many years of passing by this museum, I finally decided to bring my family in for a tour. We had a wonderful time! There was so much history that I hadn't the slightest clue about, and it was very interesting to learn how Eustis has grown over the years from a historical standpoint. Our son (11 years old) really enjoyed it as well, even as a young kid. My daughter (2-1/2 years old) decided it would be a wonderful idea to throw a tantrum the majority of the time which is what leads me to my next topic: Anne, our tour guide. Anne was AMAZING! She was so accommodating with our kiddos and was so incredibly patient throughout the entire tour. I really appreciated that she didn't ever mind repeating certain facts to us and that she made the tour very personable. She had a wealth of knowledge beyond what she read to us from the tour guide's book, and I truly feel that she is the reason we had such a great time! Thank you, Anne, we hope to visit again someday!

Truly Amazing Living History Museum is a FL Treasure

If you are looking to catch up on some history about Eustis, then this is the place to see. Each cloister of visitors receives a custom tour of the museum with a personal tour guide. If there is a tour in session, then you need to wait on the porch until it is completed. The door is then unlocked and the new visitors are welcomed to the next viewing. We found our tour guide not only to be knowledgeable but also showed humility when there was something she didn’t know. She was spending her free time reading up on the history of the area as well to know how to better answer the many questions that arise in such a tour. We enjoyed the plethora of items and people that were mentioned throughout each room in the house turned museum. It was quite the learning experience.

No. I'm sorry, we do not. We know there was a golf course, but no information.
It is free, no cost, but they do take donations, if you like to.
I believe they are are only open on Friday and Saturday, 1-5. Here's the link for more details. http://www.eustishistoricalmuseum.org
