...have to register for free through NWFWMD for gate code...water spigot at each RV site,portapotties,electric outlet to charge phone at entrance booth,NO garbage(so please carry out with you)...1 mile to boat ramp on river,watchout for gators(our canoe tipped over...seriously!!!...yikes!)...about 3 mile drive to big shopping...but,small convenience store 1 mile...close to Crystal River,swim with the Manatees...

Yes, there is an old boat ramp next to the covered shelter and there is a long stretch of open shoreline on the edge of the large field. All is accessible by car. Beware though: they change the code frequently on the combination lock on the gate without any warning or notification during the middle of your reservation. I have been locked in several times over the last few years including as recently as a week and a half ago. Cell phone service is bad to non-existent there and I've had to hike up the road a few miles to get solid signal on my phone to get the new lock code.
