This experience has been ruined by the city's mismanagement. One of the many things obliterated by city policy to boost tourism while decimating our beaches natural beauty and attractions. Clearwater, you have RUINED yourself. I don't recommend vacationing here unless you like long lines, no parking, expensive rates and terrible food and service

If you are in the area come and enjoy the breeze and view from here. Can't comment regarding the fishing experience because just came to enjoy the view of the area. It was a $1 per person to get on the pier but in my opinion it was worth it. This overall is a nice pier with nice views of the area.

No actually the Pier is open far past sundown. Especially in winter when sundown is early. It is open until 10pm.
Don't know in January but in sept it wasn't on the day we were there.

Also, keep in mind you can not fish on the "free" side of the pier. You have to go through the gate. Last week everyday between 11am and 1pm a group of manatees, numbering 5 or 6 swam through the swim area from north to south. Everyday they were there.

Lol. No rules that i know of. They supply little poles. So bring your own. Have fun 🐟 24 hour fishing on weekends. And Clearwater beach is right under pier.
No. It is operated similarly to a fishing charter and you are covered by their license, as long as you pay.

$8.50 to rent a rod n reel all day. Wrist band so you can come and go. Bait cost is separate. And a dollar to go to end of Pier.
The pier has a license that covers all people fishing from it.
I'm not sure. If are planning on fishing at night, is closed.
