I’ve been having issues with my periods for years. The last 2 doctors I’ve seen have only recommended an IUD even after I tell them no and my reasons. Then I found Emily here and I thought my issues were finally heard and we began the process of getting my issues sorted out. But due to massive communication issues and a scheduled procedure that I was misinformed about the protocols, I will be finding a new clinic. The doctor I saw today did what every other doctor has done and told me that I need to get an IUD. After I repeatedly state I will not put that in my body he continues to tell me how wonderful it is. I wish doctors would listen to their patients and understand that women especially older ones know their bodies very well. I wish doctors would communicate amongst their team as well. I felt I was on a hamster wheel today. I left that office feeling defeated and sad that I have to continue to live every month bleeding so badly I have to bring a change of clothes with me. After trying medications and having ultrasounds and being scheduled a biopsy that I did not have because one medical professional told me it’s better to be on my period but when I get to my appointment I’m told I will probably have to have another one when I’m not bleeding. I even paid for this procedure that I did not have and I’m pretty sure I’ll never get my money back. I’ve never felt so unheard, or believed in my life. Why is it so hard to find a doctor that actually wants to listen to a patient without being condescending and acting like a know it all. I left that appointment in tears and I will never step foot in that clinic ever again. The only bright part of my visit was the amazing women that work at the front. They are so wonderful and I appreciated that. Oh and they did not give me any information about what I have to do before the biopsy. I had to have a pregnancy test but I had just relieved myself prior to being called back. When I stated I can’t go, I was told I can’t have the procedure. I tell her I’m on my period and I know with absolute certainty I’m not pregnant she still says I have to reschedule. I even told her I will sign something that states I take full responsibility etc… As a woman who knows her sex life and is on her period I was not believed at all. It felt so uncomfortable that I had to plead my non pregnant case when I’m on my period for crying out loud. You can’t have your period and be pregnant, it was ridiculous. All of this nonsense could have been avoided had the medical staff communicated clearly what the protocol was for this procedure. But instead I was made to feel like a lying, unheard, hysterical hormonal woman. Thanks for making my day simply amazing!!

I’ll start by saying first impression is everything and customer service can truly cause a business to lose potential clients. After hearing great things about Dr. Nixon, I was excited to schedule an appointment. Unfortunately, I’m no longer interested because of the front office staff. I called to schedule an appointment, I was immediately on hold for 15 minutes. A rep answers finally, and asks me to hold for additional few minutes, I agree (not like I had a choice). Shortly after, the phone was picked up and disconnected. So, me a little annoyed, I held my composure with patience and called back. Again, immediately put on hold. Again, I wait 10-15 minutes before someone answers and asks me, AGAIN to hold. I asked will I be disconnected again because one of your reps just hung up the phone. She (Saddie) says “no… put on hold”. I just hung up, at that point I’m no longer interested. Horrible customer service, this shows me that I’m already not appreciated, I’ll pass. Sad, I was truly excited to see Dr. Nixon.

I went for an ultrasound on 3/17/2022. It's been two weeks and a day, and multiple phone calls later, and I have yet to speak with this nurse they claim is too busy to even spend 30 seconds on the phone with me to tell me my results. The first excuse was that she was on vacation, the second excuse was that "she's too busy." So, I ask the name of this elusive nurse. That's when they proceed to tell me they have "many nurses." Apparently, none of these "many nurses" could give me a phone call to tell me the results of a test they refuse to put in my patient portal. I've never had a worse experience dealing with an office. What a shame, since I really love Dr. Nixon.

I am so glad I found this place! I am newer to Lakeland so I wasn't able to ask friends or anything like that for a recommendation. I started coming here when I found out I was pregnant and my care has been wonderful. The entire staff has been wonderful. I have been seeing Dr. Puretz and he has been super nice and informative every appointment. I highly recommend this office : )

Normally you'd go to a fertility specialist but I do believe they offer fertility help at this location.
No not as your only insurance but they will take it as secondary
We take Medicaid at our midwife office next door operated by Suncoast Community Health Centers. The midwives are supervised in the office and hospital by our board certified obstetricians. We do VBACs, where appropriate, at both offices.
