ARC allowed me to come in and visit my cat a couple of times before I adopted him. The adoption process was easy, and they sent me home with a bit of food and a couple of toys to get me started. The staff are very kind. I appreciated that the first visit at a vet was free, and my cat checked out healthy.

This is a NO KILL shelter, they take care of the animals like no others. Staff is friendly and play with animals all day long. Remember most of them are volunteers. Adopt don't shop

I'm very blessed. And though it's not about reciprosity, I believe if you want to be blessed, you have to bless others. I like animals more than most people, and since they cannot speak up for themselves they are my first choice when it comes to philanthropy. I just moved to the area and wanted to find an animal rescue to financially assist with a monthly donation. Of course, I like to check out the charity in person, first. In doing so at ARC I got a really weird, uncomfortable feeling. Especially, after meeting a pitbull named Jen that became very aggressive towards me. It was certainly upsetting because I have never experienced that type of behavior from another dog in my life. The staff seemed uncoordinated, untrained, and uninformed but were relatively polite. My hope is this rescue does good in our community so I left a $100 bill on the counter in the reception area but will make my $1,000/month donation, elsewhere.

I love this place! I adopted 2 dogs from them a week apart. I don't know what these negative reviews are for, we were treated great and respectfully. The adoption process was easy as well. If you get turned down, there must be a good reason. They care deeply for their animals and invest a lit of money with medical bills, training, etc... I had a great experience with ARC and they travel to save animals, both my dogs were from the Louisiana floods. They drove out there and brought back 15 dogs and cats. The dogs and cats there couldn't ask for better housing and you won't find that at other shelters. Not to mention, you get your adopted pets fully vaccinated, spayed/nuetered, medical checked. They also give you a months supply of heart guard and flea and tick meds. As well as a little dog/cat food to get you started, oh and also a collar, leash and some toys. What other rescue does all this and with a low adoption fee? I donate when ever possible. Here is a pictures of my little guys.

As a fellow volunteer I can tell you ARC is an amazing place and they survive solely via donations from people just like you. It is one of the largest truly no-kill shelters in the state and we are lucky to have them as part of our community.
She is totally rude we rescued a cat last year it was so tiny and surely would have died if we left it where it was thrown but we could no longer have him because he spent most of his time in an enclosed cat cage which was really big with multiple floors but that wasn’t a life for such a great cat. We could not have him lose because we have 4 dogs and our oldest dog doesn’t get along with cats so we decided to surrender him with the agreement that we could check up on him periodically. Plus payed $50 surrender fee. I called last week because I still haven’t seen him be put up for adoption and it’s been almost a month and she told me that we had left him there so it was no longer our concern. Totally unacceptable
You should have one
You have to go there and fill out an application I believe they are open from Wednesday to Sunday it is a fantastic shelter very healthy animals I love it there
Absolutely! Thank you!
I am not a rescue but posted about ARC, a rescue for people who need to find a home for their pet. There are several bully rescues. You can find them online. I don't know one from the other so I can't recommend one specifically.
The dogs have their own small shelters, they are always taking donations for washable bedding, toys, treats, blankets, towels, sheets ect. (Both dog and cat items). :)
You can get a permit 4 the dog to go anywhere as a emotional support dog go online that cost $129
They can use everything.
Animal refuge on old bayshore road is a no KILL shelter and a great place over all. Give them a call and am sure that they can help you out...
Really not sure!
You are going to have to call lee county and surrender your animals to them and then they will find somewhere to house them.
Yes. Just contact them directly.
Please contact them directly. If they can't help perhaps they can direct you to someone who can. Good luck.
Fill out the online application first. Look at the animals on line. If there is a certain animal you want to look at put it on the application. You aren't bound to that one but they will be able tell you all about that animal when they call you with the approval. They are really nice people and do their very best to pair you with a perfect match. We just adopted a beautiful dog last week and let me tell you... He is a perfect fit for our other dog. We are pleasantly surprised how great they get along. 2 - 1 male 1- female. Staffordshire pit bull terrier is what we had her name is Lexi and the new one is Ryan.. Aka O'rion. I kept forgetting the "O" LOL I know I sound long winded but getting the perfect fit animal is a lot less stress on everyone. Good luck... I hope it all works out for you.
They are anti euthanize. We recently got a kitten from them.
No
Yes! We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which depends upon donations from caring people to assist in the well-being of shelter animals. To learn how you can help, please see http:/www.animalrefugecenter.com/donate . Thanks Herme! Have a blessed day.
I found this on the web http://doberescue.net/
I believe they would but please check with them
Sorry, I'm not with the shelter, just a fan of theirs. Here's their website. Thanks for adopting! http://animalrefugecenter.com/contact-us/
Yes many ppl volunteer there. But not sure about age.
They do not but we took a ferral kitten to Lee County and they were happy to get a kitten. They kept it to adopt out.
ARC doesn't take in strays or owner surrenders. A found dog or cat has to go to Lee County Domestic Animal Services per law, first. Check there.
In order to surrender an animal, you should go to the website, www.animalrefugecenter.com, and fill out a surrender form. Once that is filled out online, our shelter director will contact you with more information.
ARC is a private animal shelter- you could try calling them on the phone, they will consider surrenders on a case by case basis. You may want to try re-homing them yourself or looking up a no-kill shelter like gulf coast humane society.
This business only trains dogs that are already in their facility - try https://dogtrainerfortmyers.com/
Call them at 731-3535 to discuss options. If you need dog food call United Way at 211.
I have a 4 month beagleim giving her away asap can't have her HOA complained
Where do you live? Do you have pictures?
If he is an owner surrender then ARC would take him
The no-kill animal hospital is not taking any new cats right now you can take them to the animal Refuge Center they give them a fair amount of time to be adopted I would take them there
The only way to know is to contact them directly... this q&a is answered by locals
This Q&A form is mainly answered by local guides and for this type of question you would be best off contacting the people at the animal Refuge Center directly
