Our first time there! Brought an off road stroller for the toddler since he hates to be worn, but it wasn't for the faint of heart. Very nice hiking trails, I liked the recycling at the trail head too. We were able to pick up a lot of trash and bring it back there.

Reminds me of New Mexico: rocky paths, junipers, sun and shade, trickling water, and prickly pear cactus. The trail is "closed" for ice and it is muddy in some areas. Bring a plastic bag for your wet shoes. Not a good trail if you are afraid of falling. Great trail if you want a beginners preview of what mountain biking in New Mexico is like.

This afternoon I went to hike/walk on the OCNP trail. I have to tell you, it wasn't the simple hike I anticipated. The markings for each of the five (5) trails are NOT marked consistently nor correctly (some trees are painted w/green and there is no green trail.) I had to call for help as I was 'lost' inside a never-ending loop then use my compass to find the parking lot. The trail maps were not too helpful, as I began, see photo below, all painted over, and the QR code doesn't allow for a "you are here" marking. There is trash everywhere!! I found a plastic bag along the way and collected what I could. That's shameful and also dangerous because there is a lot of broken glass and dented pointy cans. PLEASE do the needful to make this trail an enjoyable experience. Thank you. Denise Schnitzer

This is the ideal place for hiking on weekdays or weekends however, it needs more security and more signs so you can keep walking on the route, this is a beautifull park and the Community keep it clean, really worth the trip! Just make sure bring comfy shoes and water!

Yes.
Dusk.
No cost. This is a public place. It's really for a nice walk/hike. Be careful it's very easy to get lost here so download an app to track where you are in case you get lost.
It's not just small dogs you should worry about. I've seen footage of a bobcat bullying a coyote in Arlington. You should exercise caution even if you have large dogs.
Early morning or midday around 2/3pm
