Shotokan Karate of America is a rare organization that strives to truly help people create the best versions of themselves through traditional martial arts practice.
Michael Bauer
A great organization with many dedicated, wonderful individuals, built over many years with endless patience, effort and heart by Sensei Tsutomu Ohshima.

Truly an outstanding organization with deep roots in traditional Shotokan Karate. The non-profit nature shows how dedicated the seniors are in passing on the teachings. Besides the fitness factor, SKA has become a part of my life on so many levels!

I have been practicing with SKA since 2008. The non-profit ideology, countless high quality selfless black belt teachers, emphasis on being humble, emphasis on discipline, facing our selves with the strictest eyes and many other key life lessons were all thing I learned just because I got to join this wonderful organization. I now have 100s if not 1000s of close friends who all push themselves to be better than yesterday because of our common connection through SKA Dojo's. I have seen kids who started practicing with Ska early on, who grew up to be fantastic human beings. Ohshima sensei gave SKA the idea of special training which is a truly transformative experience for anyone who atleast did one SKA special training in their life. Overall SKA can indeed change yours or your family's life and make you a far more confident, strong individual who can not only defend ones self and family but also make you a courageous and confident individual. I strongly recommend SKA to anyone.
