Went there to have surgery was the worst experience I ever had the place was very dirty the staff was very rude the doctor talks to me while I'm still under and has me sign paperwork when I'm under and I have no idea when I'm signing or unable to read extremely unprofessional display should be out business

Been there twice. The surgeries went well, but most everything else was substandard, especially how they treated me. When I was in pre-op, I heard the questions everyone else was asked. Everyone except me. Questions like “When did you last eat or drink?” Or “Have you taken any meds today and if so which ones.” I had my last food and drink at 6:00 p.m. the day before and a 12:40 pm appointment. At about 3:45 I was still waiting for my surgery when they decided to do an I.V. Saline Drip because I was dehydrated because I had had nothing to drink for 22hours! They went through three vitals monitors before they found one that worked. And then, I’m not sure they ever looked at it. The O.R. Supervisor was cold, callous and rude.I would go out of my way to never go back there.

My insurance designated that I go to Wills Eye Cherry Hill for my cataract surgery. Waiting area was comfortable and spacious. Wait time was not particularly long, maybe a half-hour. Our appt was for 9 am. I was getting prepped by 10 and all the nurses and physicians were attentive-explaining clearly what was going on and why. I was ready to be discharged around 11 am and was home by 12:15. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the traffic congestion we ran into getting there from Gloucester County, which was not the facility's fault.

It seemed to operate as well as any other healthcare service. The wait did seem to be overly long although that seems to be the new standard, I guess. But the staff were very friendly and efficient. I just don't totally understand why they tell you to get there a half hour early and then make you wait an hour and a half to get in there. I mean, in this day and age, they could text you a better time to get there if they're behind. I'm fine with them running behind, those things will happen but technology could fix it.

Questions & Answers

How long does the surgery take

If it is cataract surgery, you should allow at least 1.5 - 2 hours. That includes check-in, pre-op, surgery and recovery.
