This walking trail is right in the middle of a charming small town... there's unexpected solitude along the walk. be aware however that if you park in the sternwheeler parking there are lots and lots of stairs but if you take 3rd (Ave? Street? first right off road) to the Southwest Loop Washington birding trail there's just a mild slope and a somewhat muddy path through a field. It's a long enough walk!

Lovely park with miles of trails, a boat & kayak ramp, an outdoor amphitheater, numerous picnic benches, cool art installations, and info boards spotlighting native flora & fauna. In summer there are often movies in the park; free family-friendly movies shown at the outdoor amphitheater. The miles of trails make for an excellent place to go for a run or to walk your dog. (Please be mindful that all of Clark County has both leash and scoop laws.) The boat ramp is a great place to launch a kayak, canoe or paddle board. In spring the wetlands flood and make for a huge area to exlpore by water and in fall the main channel is still sufficient for most small vessels. I haven't fished here in 5 years or more, but there are crayfish and it is rumored there are catfish in the wetland areas. Occasionally locals ride their horses here, but I wouldn't call it a particularly good destination for one to trailer in and out of, due to the excessive use of packed gravel on the wetland trails, and occasional unleashed dog.

A very nice park that I ride through on my bike.

Beautiful park with so much to enjoy each time. Friendly, clean and safe. The flowers are the best part; I love to smell them on my daily walks here. Lovely place to swim and escape the heat!
