The Madras Hiking Trail system is very nice, You can quickly get around town and onto several nature trails. Very nice Oregon views.

Sweet spot to walk off lunch. It's paved and off the street so it's quiet and you don't have to worry about being hit by a truck. Also had some nice views of mountains from the top.

Hmmmm. To hike? For Sonic burgers? There is a great rest stop between Madras and Redmond for resting and checking out the area's geology. Smith Rocks are nearby to the East as well.
