Crowded, moderately difficult, but fun! It's a beautiful hike, as any, but for my first time I only got about half way up. There's a lot of big rock steps, narrow paths, and inclines- and you'll run into people a lot on the trail. Me and my partner got there about 7:40am and the main parking lot was packed. Thankfully there's a $5 parking lot down the road that was empty but when we got back at 10am it was full as well. So come early for sure.

This is a moderately difficult/steep hike that ends with truly breathtaking views. There are two outlooks that provide views of the north and south. The northern view includes Mt. Baker, Bellevue, Lake Sammamish, etc. The southern view is of Mt. Rainier and it's one of the best views of the mountain for which one could hope.

This Trail is a great challenge for myself. Almost like walking upstairs for about an hour. The view is beautiful anytime of day. I always pack a lunch to sit and soak up my summit and view. Heading down can be steep at points but less challenging and faster down. I've done this Trail twice from two different entrances. (The longer and shorter one)

Parking : little tricky, see if there is near trial head or park on street. Hike intensity Beautiful and moderate hike.. quite crowded..view points are few until you reach certain height. Rainier view on a clear day. The summit can be driven too, saw para gliders.

Surprisingly, no, that's not why. I think it's largely because you feel like "poo poo" when you reach the "point" (top).

lodgers used whistles to communicate from the towers on the top of the hill to the bottom. the wistle used was 2 logs tied to a cable, and when it was sounded it would make the sound poo poo. your welcome.

Is this hike Kid friendly

Depends on the age of the kid. At the start of the trail there's more of a steep elevation with some rock "steps" that a 4-6ish year old may trip on if they aren't helped. It's not extreme. The trail can get crowded on a busy day. The Issaquah high school route of the trail is wider and less of an incline. I did see a momma bear and cub on that route of the trail last year, just as I turned a corner even on a relatively busy day. Just be aware of that. Another scenic option that's good for younger kids is the Twin Falls trail in North Bend.

Since in the past there was lots logging in the area and you would hear a "poo poo" sound from the equipment.
