This company does not do well with customer service. I purchased off Amazon, and I paid to get two day shipping. Not only did the bike arrive a week later, they sent the wrong bike. I tried to return it, and on Amazon it does not say anything about how much it will cost to ship it back. I ended up paying $280 to ship back a bike that was mistakenly sent. Anyways, the bike arrived to their facility 4 days after paying for shipping in May. It is now June and I have not gotten my refund back. I’ve contacted Amazon many times to try to keep in touch with them, and nothing. I tried calling but they never answer, and their mailbox is full. I sent emails and nothing as well, they told me to “not worry”. I am so frustrated. Very bad customer service.

I have only had this bike for a few weeks, but I love it so far . It is NOT as easy to put together as they said if you aren't experienced- I ended up hiring a mechanic. This model doesn't come with free Amazon assembly. He thought it was one of the better made low end model eBikes he had seen. My only problem has been that the key can stick- making it take me a few minutes to get the battery in position. I am adding a basket carrier to the back and a Dorothy basket on the front.They forgot my basket- but sent it immediately when I called- I just don't like their basket aesthetically- plastic.I may replace the light also- it's cheap plastic- and I'll add a rear light. It's quite easy to ride in all three modes and has a very low hum when the motor is in use.. Mine came with a regular American style kickstand.

It’s a super-strong bike, NAKTO Santa Monica, it says 500w, but faster than other's 750w, fantastic design, yet feels nimble as well. I love the options for power assist…especially in our big Seattle hills!

Perfect around-town e-bike. Love this e-bike and company! Fast Shipping: Nakto shipped the Camel Men's Black 26" e-bike out the next business day after I ordered, and I received it the day after that. It was very well packaged. Also, unlike prior reviews, the basket/hardware were in the same box (not a separate shipment). Easy Assembly: There was one loose screw/nut in the box (for the headlight/front fender), but no missing or damaged parts. The tools are good enough (two ball-end hex keys, crescent wrench, and now includes a flat screwdriver). Watched the video on Nakto's site, and had everything setup in about an hour. The only thing not in the video that you should watch out for is to relocate/rotate the front brake pads to properly grip the rim. The derailleur and rear bake came perfectly adjusted. Everything went together great, but I left off the basket for now. Inflated the tires (standard Shraeder valves, which is a blessing for me) to 50psi (tire wall says 350kp2, or 350kpa), but may try higher to 60-65psi per Nakto's online manual. Product Updates: Yes, I read every article and watched every video about this bike, and noticed every update (which is a great sign that the company listens and keeps improving the product). - Headlight is a sleeker/slimmer single lens LED unit, rather than the big, chrome one with a bunch of bare LED's. - All the cables/wiring are now routed on the side (not through the top basket bracket, which can cause chaffing/shorts). - Brake levers are now "American style" with the front brake on the left, and rear brake on the right. - The gear change unit is now a sleek single-lever name-brand Shimano, Tourney series unit; rather than a two lever unit. Matching derailleur and cassette. - Extra fuse is included, which is a really nice touch (probably because of Electrek's review). - Bellows added on the seat tube under the seat to protect the seat from slamming onto the frame. - Nakto sticker on the battery (looks much classier than "Battery" sticker). Performance: After having only test-ridden other more expensive e-bikes, I am completely satisfied with this e-bike for my purposes. Yes, single-power-level pedal-assist takes a revolution or two to get going, but it comes on smoothly. Then again, like many videos demonstrated, the twist/grip throttle is proportional and very easy to manipulate if you want to add a little power when starting off or getting around a sharper corner (when pedal-assist is on and can be too sudden). This is the perfect bike for the local bike paths for weekend rides with my wife. She test rode it and can't wait until her Camel Women's White 26" arrives, hopefully in the next day or so (they were restocking). Customer Support: Yes, the US office may be a smaller office with only one phone line, and they are busy. Be patient. I got through on my third try, and spoke with Matt. He was great to work with. Also, Nakto honors their "low price guarantee" and their promotions/sales. I had missed the discount code on my order, but Matt checked on it to get it applied. Lastly, forget about those negative comments about non-responsiveness. I emailed support about the inventory and discount questions, and received a response the same evening (and another in the morning after I had replied). They generously offered to credit me the discount, or I could accept other accessories worth even more. Wow, blown away by the great customer service, standing by their products, and honoring their discounts/pricing. This is how a company earns customers for life.
