Excellent dog parks available! Small and large dogs have separate areas and they rotate the parks to let the grass heal from the abuse. There's even a pool for the big dogs to lay in and cool off!

I think the management of overwatering could help. The engineering of this project should have included French drains. The middle park has too much decomposed granite. It can fester diseases where the watered grass can help alleviate that. I said help, not solve. The decomposed granite leaves your dog smelling like urine and if they are playing ball, the dogs ingest alot of dirt that can lead to diseases. If the grading of this project had been done well, it would have been fantastic. On a positive note, the park an asset to have here in Folsom and bode well compared to other nearby parks.

Considering this is one of the very few dog parks in the Folsom area, it could be better. In the summer it can obviously get super hot depending on the time of day. There could be more trees and areas. The gravel which makes up 90% of the large dog area is unsafe for dog paws and can make them bleed. My biggest negative. No lights! In the fall/winter, it gets dark around 4/5pm. If you get off work, it’ll be dark and you can’t bring you dog to play. They would really just add a couple lights to one of the parks. They could even point one of the tall lights from the skate park over at the dog area! The skate area is lit up all night, even when it’s empty so I don’t know why we can’t get a couple here. Other dog parks I’ve been to in Arizona and Nevada have lights so owners can come later at night when it’s cooler during the summer. I come here several times a week and at least once a week, someone with an untrained out of control dog is here. A couple weeks ago a man brought a large dog that was violent and aggressive with almost every dog. There were about 25 dogs present and multiple dog owners were trying to get this owner to take control of their dog. Luckily, we all convinced the guy to leave before anyone got seriously hurt. All in all, it’s not the worst dog park I’ve been to but it’s far from the best. This past winter, there have been days where it’s closed when it should be as well.

Thankful to have this dog park in our community. There are 3 dog parks - big dogs (~over 25 lbs), little dogs and a 3rd park that is used for rotation. Some people don’t seem to know about the 3rd park (the signage is a bit inadequate). The 3rd park enables a Small Dog and a Large Dog Park to always be open while the 3rd Park is under maintenance. Each dog park has doggy bags for owners to clean up their dogs poop (most do but ya know there are always some that don’t in a crowd...) and garbage cans. Soooo nice. The morning crowd seems to have regulars and they help each other by pointing out the dog doing business when one might not see their dog doing their business. Each park also has water hoses and bowls that frequently are filled by humans....and drained by dogs. Currently (April 2019) the parks are closed for maintenance on Wednesday’s.

Is this a good dog park to hold a doggy birthday party with 14 golden retrievers?

YES! Oh my gosh, will that be a fun event!! Be sure you go when the big dog section is open. They rotate closing the 3 sections to give the grass a break. So the big dogs would need to play in the little dog area, if closed... Not so sure the little-dog owner's would appreciate being invaded by 14 large dogs in the little dog area, even if they are loveable goldens. ❤ We've been several time when the big dog area is closed and big dogs are playing in the small dog area. My little ones won't go for that, so we dont get out of the car, or if big dogs come in, we have to leave. Enjoy your party! We've seen a few there.

There are bathrooms next to the skate park 100ft or so from the dog park. They get locked every night and unlocked in the morning.
