Came in with a nice watch I asked to have serviced. He told me $650 to service the watch. Then I said no sorry, that’s out of my budget.... then he said $500..... then $450... then he said ok half $415 (which is not half of $650). I walked out with my watch without it being serviced. I know it’s a nice watch and it would cost a lot to service, but that’s extreme. Plus all the haggling was off-putting. I think he thought I was a sucker.

I brought my E. Ingraham antique mantle clock that's been in my family for over 100 years to Peter for repair. I don't know if it had been cleaned or oiled in my lifetime, but it always worked and then stopped suddenly. Peter repaired it and it keeps perfect time now. I live in Oregon and there are so few people that do clock repair work in this country and do it well that I was thrilled to find this shop in Sacramento. It was worth what it cost to have it repaired properly.
