Newly renovated room selected through online check in. Expected that any room available via this option, should be a standard hotel room. Room had a strong chemical smell and lacked any seating area except for side tables. Was told room was finished, just the furnishings were not upon inquiry. Despite the sign on the wall - no actual manager on duty. Disappointing experience and poor customer care. Will definitely stay elsewhere.

If you dislike cigarette smoke, don't bother. Kudos to Hilton for trying to renovate this clearly neglected hotel. While inconvenient, I don't mind the renovation materials all over and can get past the horribly outdated decor. Either they haven't tried yet or it's not possible to get the thick stench of stale cigarettes out of the elevator, halls, and rooms. I stayed in one of the "updated" rooms and it looked like a toddler did the design after being given a $20 bill. I've been staying with Hilton for years. This hotel is definitely not the quality I would expect from Hilton - and definitely not worth the price paid.

Overall, the property was very poorly maintained. The carpet in the hall was completely covered in plastic tarp. In our room, there was something stuck to the wall by the window. It may have been food. Please let it have been just food... The layout of the room was poorly thought out. There was no space between the air conditioner and the foot of the bed, so the person sitting closest to the window could not leave the bed without a whole lot of gymnastics. There was a broken lamp shade in the outside window was filthy, with a broken screen that was hanging crooked. Overall, not at all what I would expect from a Doubletree.

Positive: Great Staff Negative: Very noisy, next to the freeway entrance, I heard cars entering the freeway all night long. The bathtub would not drain. The bed was like sleeping on a board. I picked this hotel because of the 3.5 star rating. I will not be staying here again.
