It is incredible enough that this beautiful Victorian home built in 1895 on the Columbia River waterfront has been lovingly restored, but I felt very fortunate that it is open to the public and I had the chance to stay there. It is very accessible from Portland and the drive there is beautiful, and when you arrive at your destination you immediately feel at peace. Brian and Linda do a great job of making you feel welcome. We brought our own snacks and had a picnic in the gazebo and enjoyed the view of the river, which is so wide at that point that it almost gives the visual of being at the ocean as ships rolled by. We stayed in the Hummingbird Room which has a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view out of the window. The rates are very affordable and include breakfast - Brian is a great cook and they offer several meal options. We added the firewood package and were so glad we did, as I type this I wish I could be back there next to the fire while looking at the river. They only have two rooms so if you went with some friends you would have the whole place to yourselves. This really is a hidden gem and I highly recommend making the trip while you can.

Brian and Linda were excellent hosts. Our room was clean and cozy, with many thoughtful touches. We enjoyed a delicious meal and the surrounding area is gorgeous. Incredible views from the B&B! Love how remote it is.

Great relaxing getaway! Little bnb off the beaten path with reading nooks and beach access. The hosts are kind and attentive, and excellent cooks. I particularly recommend the Irish tea and homemade cheesecake. Also has a claw foot tub that my wife really appreciated.

Such history packed into this lovely home amidst a most tranquil nostalgic setting. Linda and Brian have restored this beautiful victorian (that has been in the family for five generations) with tender loving care. They are both absolutely wonderful hosts and go out of their way to make you feel welcome at their little piece of heaven on the Columbia River. Our family of four enjoyed delicious breakfasts (they even grow some of the fruits/veggies in their garden), great conversation, comfy beds, astounding river views and star gazing, marshmallow roasting by the fire pit, flower garden, sweet cats, friendly neighborhood deer, and some wonderful kayaking with Columbia River Kayaking in nearby Skamokawa, WA. It doesn't get much better! We look forward to our next trip to the Pacific NW so we can stay at Dahlia House again. Many Thanks Linda and Brian!!!
