I went between 2 and 3 stars because there was one staff member (I assume the main manager/supervisor, a distinguished gentleman) who went out of their way to greet us and talk to us while we were waiting for someone. Other than that we did not feel the person in charges of adoptions was either kind, considerate or professional. When we arrived the shelter was closed for lunch so we decided to go use the restroom elsewhere since the Restroom there was closed because of covid anyhow. Upon returning we saw a woman outside smoking by the dog adoption play area and we proceeded to go inside. When we got in we were told that everything was by appointment only but if we checked in with the adoptions that they might allow us to see and adopt a dog. We were told to wait by the adoption room and and we did for what seemed like forever but in the middle of that waiting. We were greeted bySomeone who had a conversation with us for a few moments and made us feel more welcomed. When we were finally greeted by the woman handling the adoptions she seemed irritated and frustrated to be helping us. She wasn't very helpful didn't ask any questions about what we were looking for. Instead just gave us a book with some animals in it and walked away and told us to call color when we decided what we wanted to see. Since my husband and I had a lot more questions I wanted to know a lot more information that we weren't given and we had just felt really uncomfortable the whole time with being there we decided to just leave and didn't get to adopt a dog that day. It was very unfortunate that we were made to feel we were being a bother. I hope that this isn't an occurrence that happens often. Thank you to those who were helpful.

Feels like our dog was stolen from us. Last month, my pregnant fiance and I were between moves and having THE WORST luck with everything. Our dog got loose quite a bit in the Brooktrails area. He was very curious, sneaky and clever. We believe he was following the scent of a female in heat.. With us in our trailer, he would dig himself out of the yard, he broke our runner, even got loose from our trailer when we weren't home. We always found him though. The shelter got him twice, but this second time we struggled getting from brooktrails to Ukiah because our truck was on its last leg. The fuel pump went out, the starter went out, our battery died on the way there at the Redwood Valley gas station, finally our driveline snapped at our new place and we finally traded it out a week ago. Long story short, we couldn't afford the $400 to get him on the 10th day and he became their dog. He was scheduled for the following Tuesday at 1:30 to be neutered. We called consistently and reassured them we'd be in the following week after his surgery to purchase him back. That's the weekend our driveline snapped. We called on Thursday and they informed me our dog was adopted out Tuesday. In a matter of 3 hours they had adopted him out.? We loved our dog. We had him since he was 6 weeks old. Way too early so he is very emotionally dependent, but the seller was getting rid of him none the less and we knew how to handle a pup so young. He was never neglected as I presume the shelter may have thought.

This is a great place to volunteer. They are very flexible. After a simple orientation, you can drop in when you are available to walk dogs or interact with cats. There are many different ways to help. Would you like a hiking buddy? You can make a quick stop at the shelter and pick up a pup to take with you. Would you like the companionship of a pet but can't commit to having one full time? Stop by the shelter and bring a fur baby home for the weekend. The staff make it easy to help in any capacity. Pictured here is Marty, a very sweet and handsome boy we had over the weekend. If you're looking to cuddle, he's your man.

Yea
Up to $166 depending on age of animal and what vaccines or services need to be administered before adoption. The county does occasionally have programs that reduce the cost of adoption. Source: http://www.mendoanimalshelter.com/programs-events/adoption-fees
I have used both cash and visa
Me I could use it please
I not to sure for free maybe? Looks like u probably have to pay $35 and call snap
Hi Mariah, while you wait for an answer from the shelter I thought I would mention the mobile VIP Pet Care clinics. They are at several businesses Tractor Supply and Rainbow Ag on Saturdays. Great quick service and it is way less extensive than a vet visit. Also, if you go to their web site to get clinic info you can usually get a coupon, also.
You should file a report with the police. They will be able to handle it.
Yes. Pictures of the animals are on the website.
They chip them, fix them and get them all there shots, the price may vary depending on age and sex, call ahead of time to make sure they have what you want
