Its like any library set up; tone, clmate, and behavior. I dont like the single out about the mask in a rude tone vs others quest. They need to tone down their behavior when approaching someone in a harshly it really not necessary. Adults Not everyone that walks through the door is dumb which comes off with appeatance, jestures and tone. Get rid of the pay for prints fee (computers) so everyone dosent have to feel that they need to bring cash/ cards. Rather not bring any cash/card on hand since thats can be stolen. I hope they have all taken three COVID19 test and its registra in the CDC system being a city or county employee of CA. Maybe they can relax more when a person mask slip off for a breather. SUGGESTION: Cheer Up or liten Up everyone including the guard seems solemn. Play varies types of low music no voices, stops snoozing. COVID19 is not the end of the world and foremost diet, gypm and mind relaxing books/Cds/list should be visually placed to aid in a role of recovery with the vaccines so its becomes more effective. 😼 🙀 🙉 Hanging out in the library/church can be modane especially for youth and seniors. Other then that its a library; you know, you know.

It's 91 degrees out (very HOT! ) and this has been the only library without any running Air Condition, must be the community substandard....total mediocrity! I've visited all other library's and they all have running AC, except for this one in particular. :(

In West Oakland so a little rough, inside and out. The building itself is on the small side which feels right for a neighborhood library. A rent a cop is always on duty. WiFi is decent; computer access as well. It can get quite noisy, people talk on their phones, listen to music without headphones (!)

Itd be better to go to the main library branch downtown on 14th st. They have a whole second floor thats for oakland history and records. Anything you could poasibly need or be looking for as well as people there to help you with your research and give you advice or tips on as how best to go about finding the information you want.
You can go to any library branch and ask them to replace it at the main desk, you may have to have an ID to prove its your account though.
