Nice place to fish and launch a boat

First time camping here, I was out on July 3rd looking for a place to camp. I knew it was last minute and that my chances of finding a spot were pretty slim but I pulled in on a whim and walked up to the manager's residence half expecting an "are you kidding me get out of here" attitude but what I got was completely the opposite. Not only did they have a cancellation that I was able to get but the manager was very helpful and friendly, he even stopped by for a quick chat the next morning. Although it is not air conditioned, the restroom / bath house is well kept. I would like to see more trees in the campground so that there would be more shade around the campsites and less resident campers who can stay for 11-1/2 months before having to leave so there is not a lot of opportunity to secure a waterfront campsite.

Aggressive, rude woman in biker gear told us to turn around and leave right now because this was private property. I suppose she actually had some authority. Couldn't even park there for a fee.

Pulled up in one vehicle with two kayaks and were yelled at from someone at the "ranger station" across the street that we had to pay $5 per boat to launch. They used a megaphone, because I'm assuming they were too lazy to come and actually say something. The sign says $5 per vehicle as does the actual envelope to pay the fee. Don't come here. There's plenty of FREE and friendly launch sites all around Chattanooga.

I was under the impression that there is no public fishing at this spot. Is this true?

If you pay the $5 to park for a day or $40 for a year at the ramp, I don't see how anyone could say anything. The $40 is good for both Brown's bridge and oppossum creek camping area.
