Visited it at my favorite time of year Christmas! They put on a very nice display of holiday light! It's a just visit on our families list each year! No fee required, but they normally accept donations.

The Christmas lights at Loy Lake Park are spectacular! It’s a great family tradition that will slowly wind you through the park while looking at light displays from the twelve days of Christmas, Santa, Rudolph, and many many more! From 75, it’s easiest to exit number 68 for W. Crawford Street in Denison. If you’re coming from south of Denison, take the turnaround to head back south on the access road and you’ll see the lights and signs. It’s completely free and they ask for donations to help keep the tradition going. It’s just a very short drive from Collin County and well worth it!!

NO. The State of Texas does not require for fishing at a State Park. All other fishing regulations, such as length and bag limits, remain in effect. Typically one is required for persons over the age of 17 years old. https://tpwd.texas.gov/regulations/outdoor-annual/licenses/fishing-licenses-stamps-tags-packages
