Bayside Pavers is a fantastic company that is really easy to work with. I'm a landscaper, and I've been using them for backyard and driveway pavers for my clients for over three years. They consistently exceed my and my clients' expectations. The installation costs are really fair, and the work is completed on time. I strongly recommend them to anyone looking for paver installation services. Thank you for the amazing service that you guys provide!

I was recently planning to build a new patio for my backyard. After researching about different options, I decided that concrete pavers would be the best choice for my purpose. I chose Bayside Pavers since they had the best concrete paver options, at reasonable prices and not to mention they were located in Santa Rosa. The entire project took a couple days, but once it was done it felt like a whole new beautiful backyard.

Does a retaining wall need planning permission?

Does a retaining wall need planning permission? In most cases, yes. However, there are some exceptions. For example, if the wall is less than four feet tall and does not support any structures, it may not require a permit. In addition, if the wall is being built on your own property and will not impact your neighbor's property in any way, a permit may not be necessary. However, it's always best to check with your local planning department to be sure. Retaining walls can play an important role in preventing soil erosion and protecting your property from flooding. As such, it's important to make sure that you follow all the necessary regulations when constructing one.

Do I need a concrete footing for a retaining wall? The short answer is: yes, you will need a concrete footing for your retaining wall in Santa Rosa, CA. The longer answer is a little more complicated. While most soil types will require some type of foundation to support a retaining wall, the specific requirements will vary depending on the type of soil, the size of the wall, and the intended use of the wall. For example, a small brick retaining wall in a residential garden may only require a few inches of concrete footing, while a taller commercial retaining wall may need several feet of footing to provide stability. When in doubt, it's always best to consult with a professional before starting any construction project. Does a 2 foot retaining wall need drainage?

Any retaining wall, regardless of height, But especially 2 foot high retaining walls need to have some type of drainage system in place behind it. Without proper drainage, rain and melting snow can build up behind the wall and cause it to collapse. There are several different types of drainage systems that can be used, but they all essentially work by redirecting water away from the wall and into a pipe or other type of channel. By keeping the area behind the wall dry, you can help to extend its life and prevent expensive repairs. If you're not sure how to install a drainage system, or if your property is particularly susceptible to soil erosion, it's a good idea to consult with a professional before beginning any work.

What is the best material for a retaining wall?

Darren Lucas | Aug 1, 2022

A retaining wall is a wall that is built to support the soil on one side of it. The most common type of retaining wall is made out of concrete, but there are also other materials that can be used, such as wood, stone, or even plastic. Each material has its own advantages and disadvantages, so it's important to choose the right one for your particular project. For example, concrete is very strong and durable, but it can be expensive. Wood is less expensive, but it's not as strong and it tends to rot over time. Stone is somewhere in between in terms of cost and strength, and it also has a more natural look. Plastic is the least expensive option, but it's not as strong as the other materials. Ultimately, the best material for a retaining wall depends on your budget, the area where the wall will be built, and the appearance that you're trying to achieve.

How do I estimate the cost of a retaining wall?

Darren Lucas | Aug 1, 2022
Darren Lucas | Aug 1, 2022

If you're considering having a retaining wall built, you may be wondering how to estimate the cost. There are several factors that can affect the price, including the type of material used, the size and height of the wall, and the complexity of the design. In general, however, you can expect to pay between $15 and $30 per square foot for a basic retaining wall. If you're looking for something more intricate or unique, however, the cost will likely be significantly higher. For a rough estimate, multiply the length of the wall by its height to get the square footage, then multiply that number by the price per square foot. This will give you a good starting point for evaluating your options and making a decision about what's right for your home or business.
