Most of the workers are so rude, especially over the phone which I don’t understand mam if you don’t like your job why are you there? Don’t tell them thank you they will just hang up on your face.

The courthouse is closed until 9/21 due to active COVID cases. Fun to learn this on the doorstep! I haven't been able to find any notice of it online, so that was a pain.
Your Magical Day
If you are getting married Jackson County couldn't make it easier to get your marriage license! The Recorder of Deeds office is friendly, fast and efficient and they make the joyful act of purchasing a marriage license even happier! In and out in less than 10 minutes!
Tactical Genie
They need to come into the 21st century with everyone else, living in a different state, Driver’s License is going to expire and I need a copy, not even the real thing, I have to snail mail in a request, not even an option to request one online or email, then they snail mail it back to me, all I need is a copy I had to come back and edit this because it gets worse, there is a free portal online where you can print off copies of the original...................found out for myself.......that would’ve been great info to put out

How much does it cost to get a marriage license
Go to Jackson county courthouse on independence square or downtown kc courthouse
You can no longer get married at the court house unless you hire a company to come out and get you ordained. You have to get the marriage license and then you have 30 days to have the ceremony
15 days after the wedding
You can no longer get married at the courthouse.
Most likely you're going to have to show up at the office and have them fix it. They probably will have to double-check your ID before updating the public record, so have that stuff with you.
You also need the money for the license.
You will have to call the court house
The recorder of deeds office issues the marriage license which then is valid for the next 30 days. In that time you find an official to perform the ceremony (if you are in a rush there are several in the independence square near the recorder of deeds office).
No cost unless you want a certified copy. $10 license good for 30 days before signed by officiant.
Yes the Independence courthouse will ISSUE a same sex marriage license given all other age and such requirements are met. The courthouse DOES NOT do the actual ceremonies...you will have to find your own officent to perform the ceremony and complete the license. But yes the courthouse will and does issue same sex applicants licenses. :)
I think it was like $60
