St. Elmo's is a great little ghost town to check out if in Buena Vista.

Chuck & Sharon are genuine and fun hosts. Their Guest House is beyond beautiful and quaint...it is a sanctuary. Whatever time of year you visit, there are plenty of trails to hike/bike/4 wheel/snowshoe and the scenery is beautiful. You are surrounded by trees and wildlife and you leave having made new friends. You are about a 30-40 minute drive from Buena Vista and also Salida, and about a 20 minute drive to Mt. Princeton Hot Springs & Resort. Sharon is an amazing chef and you will enjoy homemade breakfast, dinner and plenty of snacks. You can even request to have a picnic lunch packed! This is our second time here and won't be our last. My favorite nook is the seat swing on the upper deck.

Love Chuck and Sharon and the Ghost Town Guesthouse!!! Spent 3 days here with my sister and her family enjoying the beautiful B&B and Chuck and Sharon's amazing and sweet hospitality a few years ago. My wife and I are staying 3 more nights next month without the kids. Can't wait to go back!

Cannot say enough good things! The food was excellent (you get supper AND breakfast - as well as a big afternoon snack) the service and friendliness was amazing! We want to come back again and again! The house was beautiful, the chipmunks are right outside your door to feed all day/night (my 3-year olds favorite part) and its close to hiking/biking/fishing and other outdoor adventures you might be into. Would recommend this place to anyone! Chuck and Sharon take very good care of their guests and make any vacation a real treat!

You can view the street from the Guest House. There are two upstairs room that face the street and one that does not. The street is not busy at night and rarely busy in the winter/snowy months.
This is a B&B in the town of St. Elmo. The town itself is all private property. There are no buildings to rent. It is almost always busy with tourists and four-wheelers. There's dispersed camping nearby on the 4x4 trails. There are no accessible mines in the area.
