Clean restrooms and nice quiet campground. It was mid June so the middle of runoff season the Cottonwood Creek was moving some water! Pretty Beaver ponds with some small brookies.

Spent 2 nights at this campground recently (June 20-21, 2022) and it is easily my favorite I have ever visited. The location is great, getting around the grounds was easy, facilities were well maintained, and Cottonwood Creek was roaring, which provided great relief in afternoon. Very quiet except for the creek, but that is a nature sound to me and not bothersome. There are multiple trailheads a short drive away and Cottonwood Pass appears to be paved west of the pass into Gunnison NF from what I can tell (we did not continue further).

Popular campground near lots of trail heads as well as along cottonwood pass route. It was pretty much fully booked the entire time we were there, which was a Wednesday-Sunday. Recommend reserving. We were able to move to site 22 which was a ff site to extend our stay. This site had the creek and easy access to the vaults. Host was very helpful with helping us move!

Cleanest potty houses with almost no smell we have ever seen. The camp hosts were great with information. Onsite firewood available for sale. Water also available but it high in iron and orange color. Recommend for hand washing and dishes but bring your own drinking water. Camp sites are nicely spaced apart so you are not on top of each other and have privacy. Site options close to the river or mountain side. Highly recommend reservations. Not all sites have level areas for tents. Campground is in an lot burn area so there are lots of ants.

Yes, yes, and yes! The hosts have been doing a great job. The vault toilets are well maintained.
9,800 ft. It's well worth the trip!
Who knows? When were u there last? Bring your own water. Spring runoff is huge this year and it may taint the well
Only during small game season in the fall and no hunting allowed in the campground
Most sites are reservable online, some sites are set aside for spontaneous use, that is, drive into the campground, see if there is a free site available and then register at the campground pay station
