Located in the middle of the desert on the edge of the Mojave, Kayenta Art Village is a serene & peaceful respite from a hectic life. Xetava Gardens Cafe is a delightful eatery experience sitting outside with the monumental red rocks towering in the background. Food is delicious & reasonably priced. Outdoor dining is excellent for our pandemic times.

The main art exhibits are exceptionally good. This occasion they had native American artists at a festival put on display. Very impressed with the artists. A good time for friends and family exploring the arts.

This was a great little collection of art stores, galleries, an amazing café and two theaters. This was a great place to walk around and observe the art in the desert, and just enjoy the stillness of it all. I would say this place isn’t great for young kids, because there isn’t much entertainment for younger kids, but there is a lot to look at for the artistic eye. I LOVED this place and the whole artsy, tranquil vibe it had, and I would LOVE to go back very soon.

Spent 3 days here and it was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. So unique. From the architecture to the red rock mountains, beautiful accommodations, artwork, food, and Labyrinth it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

Why do the houses have flat roofs?

To better 'blend' with the surrounds, allow for more efficient use of entire home (i.e rooftop gardens ,patios etc) but most importantly to be overall less of an obstruction to the scenery/mountain lines and horizons. I also have a feeling that this type of thinking has had an impact on taller multi-story homes. Large multi person homes but spanning wide , left and right, rather than upwards. Once again doing away with obstructing horizons and views of such wonderful nature.
