I called a lot of places inquiring about live scan and these folks had the absolute best customer service I’ve encountered at any business in quite some time. Reasonable prices and efficient, and even when busy they gave caring attention to every customer.

Shocked at the level of customer service I received from a Live Scan establishment! Holly was so nice, helpful, and pleasant. She was also extremely fast and efficient! I wish every place had a Holly!!

Just call me Old School because I have never heard of Live Scan. Last time I did fingerprints they used Ink. I guess those days are gone, now it is all digital and electronically submitted. I was not sure where to go for this service. I asked a co-worker and she recommended EZ Live Scan in Santee. This is where she went for fingerprinting. I am so happy with her recommendation. The shop is convenient, clean, quick and professional. Will be back. Thanks!!

You may check on the status of your Live Scan record by going to the DOJ Website https://applicantstatus.doj.ca.gov/. You will need the following information: Your date of birth. Your 10-digit Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI) Number that appears at the bottom of the Department of Justice – Request For Live Scan Form.
Yes. After your employment have been determined and the Referring Agency has been notified by the Department of Justice, your fingerprint record is deleted — there is no record to “share” with your new employer and/or licensing agency.
The Rolling fee is the amount charged by the Live Scan agency to digitally capture your fingerprints and transmit them to the Department of Justice DOJ & FBI. Our Rolling fee is $20 - $25.
The requesting agency (the entity that is requesting the background check) will provide you with the Live Scan Forms necessary to complete the live scan.

Live Scan is simply the “process” of capturing your fingerprints electronically. The purpose of live scan is to simplify the criminal background checks by the DOJ and/or FBI. This criminal background report is then sent to the “Requesting” agency listed on the “Request for Live Scan Service” form. This requesting agency is the only agency that will see your personal criminal history file. If you switch jobs or want to obtain a new California license, you will need to be live scan fingerprinted again in order for that specific requesting agency to view your criminal background history report.
Valid ID. (DL or Passport) and the Live Scan request form from Agency requesting fingerprints.
You will receive letter that prints were rejected and will give further instructions...
If a requesting agency does not have results yet and digital Live Scan fingerprints were submitted, you can use the automated telephone system to check on your submission. The phone number is (916) 227-4557. You will need the following information: (1) your date of birth; and (2) the 10-digit Automated Transaction Identifier (ATI) number that appears at the bottom of the Department of Justice form requesting Live Scan fingerprint background checks. The ATI number always appears in the following sequence: 1 LETTER; 3 NUMBERS; 3 LETTERS and 3 NUMBERS.
