Here is a little cultural gem tucked into the heart of Minneapolis. It's filled with wonder and delight. Yes, there is often times a special exhibit that will cost you a small fee - otherwise, enjoy the rest for free. We have never had issues finding street parking close by. Chuck full of amazing art, in all forms. One of my favorite areas is the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit. I also love gazing out the upper story window at the downtown skyline with the description of all the buildings right there. Keep it simple. Bring the kids and gather some culture.

I went to a special exhibit here. As I understand that if you want to just see the regular collection there is no cost. The building is beautiful the art is beautiful and it is quite. Staff members are friendly and helpful. This is well worth a visit

What a gem in the heart of Minneapolis. This art institute is great for families. There is plenty of room and art for everyone. They even display local children’s artwork. They offer a family center just for kids and a cafe with goodies! Plus, it’s FREE!! Check our calendar for kids events.

A wonder art museum—certainly the best in Minnesota. The layout can be a bit confusing, but there’s something fun and exciting about going from a room full of impressionist masterpieces to one with anarchist comic strips. There’s a lovely little cafe and store. I strongly recommend setting aside an entire day to explore this museum.

Alex there is on street parking and a few paid parking lots within a few blocks of the MIA. There is a patio type deal out the back, and a great grassy area across the street for picnics! Hope this helped.
If it's just for general museum admission, nope! If you want to enter any specialty exhibits (located on the upper levels) there might be a $20 fee per ticket and you pay for it right outside of the exhibit. There is plenty to see outside of any specialty rooms though. Coat check is also free.
Yes Jackie is correct, no charge but for special exhibits. I would like to add a suggestion though, donations of any size are encouraged to help in keeping this fine art museum running. This place is a genuine gem in the center of the Twin Cities of Mpls & St Paul.

The grounds have some sculptures and could definitely add a larger variety of plants.
Best thing to do is to call the museum, as this is just google maps, the museum has no control over it, nor do they have access to the questions posted here
Call the MIA switchboard and ask the name of and the extension of the Curator of Watercolours or one of their associates. Tell them what you think you have, any provenance you have, and see what they think you should do next. It might be wise to first contact an art dealer/expert, e.g. Doug Flanders and Associates on Lake Street and see if they can provide any guidance. Don't expect them to appraise it for you or help you sell it. If it is what you think it is, they may be able to provide guidance on donating it. Remember, they get several similar calls a day in works of art. They may ask you to send them a digital photo of the piece and copies of any other materials you may have in identifying it to send to them Best Regards RAYMOND
Last time I was there restaurant was closed. Cafe was open. Was it iopen when you went?
There is handicapped parking on the street. There are ramps to get to the museum.
