Constant construction going on above your apartment. The staff justifies the construction and unbelievablely loud noise as for the betterment of future guest. Never to think of the residents that are living here and pay an incredible amount of money. I work from home and it is impossible to do meetings and calls with the noise. The apartment has horrible management, two women that do not do anything to fix problems. I have seen multiple cars get towed. The elevators two elevators on each tower of the building are always reserved and/or broken. It takes forever to get up to your apartment. Parking garage has been broken multiples times, due to the one way in the front of the building you have to get back on the frontange road to then enter the apartment complex again to access the garage. The apartment itself is poorly put together, walls slanted and caved in, bugs, wires hanging out, trim thrown up, mirrors tarnished, heating and air turned off way to early, apartment gets way to hot in the winter. The apartment almost always smells of a strong garlic scent. Friends in the building that constantly get complaints meant for other apartments. Charge you completely outrageous amounts for maintenance. They offer amenities to move in residents but no amenities are available. The staff frequently deactivates the front door key fob, unable to get in. On a positive note the cleaning lady maintaining the building is outstanding. Needless to say I would not recommend this to anyone.

Things to be taken care before moving in. This review is constrictive and fair review of this property. For the people who decided to move in please check the below list. 1. Once you are moved-in take a detailed photo/video of the apartment with major to minor details of it. 2. Send it and take the sign off from the property manager. So that you are not charged inhumanely while you move out. 3. While placing a work order, send a parallel mail to the department. in order to register your concern. Because later, you wont have the record of your services orders, apart from the auto generated system email. 4. Dealing with the manager is a headache. 5. Average amenities. 6. Plus point, the maintenance staffs are awesome people.

Some of these reviews are old and so pre-date the huge renovations, most of which are complete but some of the apartments continue to be renovated. I believe that 100% of the renovations in the common areas like the lobby are complete. My wife and I moved here in February 2018 after 23 years in a house about 1.5 miles away. We are VERY happy that we did. The negative reviews about Doug, Troy, Shane, and others are bewildering to me. I suspect they're written by rental agents at competing apartments in order to drive down the score of the Durham. We like a lot of things about living here, but the staff is at the top of the list. Every single one of them is courteous and professional. There's an easy-to-use app (or website) for maintenance requests or tenants can go into the rental office seven days a week if they prefer to request help that way. The maintenance work is done the same or next day almost always. The only exceptions are when the job is more difficult, such as some electrical issues we had with a new stove. The company that installed the stove needed to come out as it was covered by warranty. Even then, the stove worked perfectly (light saying it was hot was on all of the time) and it only took a few days to get fixed. The cleaning staff is amazing. They are ALWAYS cleaning. The place is spotless even though it is pet-friendly, which was another necessity for us. They were slow to get dog poop picked up outside (pet owners really should do that themselves) of the north loading dock last spring but I've never seen poop on the sidewalks, patio, lobby, hallways, etc. Communication is superb. They're careful about not bombarding us with too many messages, yet don't hesitate to reach out proactively if there's something important such as the need to remove cars from the parking ramp or lot when they were being cleaned and re-striped. Something else that we really like is the diversity. There are babies, toddlers, school-aged kids, young professionals, middle-aged folks like us, senior citizens, white, black, brown, etc. It is so fun to walk through the lobby and see a birthday party in the event room for a little kid and then go out onto the patio and see older residents having beers with their softball buddies.

We’ve lived here for 4 years and never had any issues. Last week we had our first incident and it was handled extremely poorly. We have two cars one in the underground garage and the other in the back lot. They towed the one in the back lot because it had a flat tire. They left us a warning letter on the car week ago. We spoke with Doug told him we are working on getting estimates for the car and will have it towed as soon as we figure it out. The car had valid plates and the parking sticker we got from the apartment. It was not parked incorrectly, it was parked the furthest spot that no one wants and we let the office know. When we spoke with Doug and Troy about the car they both said take it up with the towing company (towing company has nothing to do with the apartment policies). Jacob at the towing was actually wonderful and helped us got our car with no issues. Towing closes as 4pm and he waited for us until 4:10 to get our car. We have AAA and could have towed our car at any point but we thought when he spoke with Doug that it cleared up. Honestly can’t wait for our lease to be done, that’s if we wait that long.

Please dial the office phone number (952) 835-4320, and follow the prompts. There is an answering service available when the office is closed and they will take your requests and pass them onto the team member on call. I hope that helps!
