As a long time customer of the PetSmart store and grooming salon I was very disappointed that they refused to trim my dog front feathers during her bath and blowout appointment which would have taken all of around 5 minutes to complete. Saying "if we do it for you, we'd have to do it for all of our customers" just doesn't cut it. Of course you wouldn't if someone asked for something more complicated. It was a last minute request from me, but if they can't treat their loyal customers with some small favor, what's the point of staying with them. I'm afraid PetSmart, at least the Encinitas store, has lost a good customer.

When we went to this Petsmart (#0144), we noticed that the Guinea Pigs did not have access to water in their enclosure. Their water bottle was on its side in the back of their habitat, and it was impossible for them to drink out of it (and they were actively trying to). When we notified our cashier about this (Community Cashier-760301), he showed zero concern regarding the situation and appeared to ignore what we were saying. Despite having a radio, he took no initiative to delegate to another employee to resolve this issue. In the end, I took it upon myself to speak with another employee, who, thankfully, showed more concern. It is shameful that a store catering to pets would have staff so uncaring about animal welfare issues.

This is a great place to get fish I have been coming here for the last 2 and a 1/2 years awesome place I'll keep getting my fish here

It was Christmas Eve between 4:00 and 5:00. The store was not very crowded, but the line to cash out was very long with only one cashier working. The employee helping us get our fish was very knowledgeable and very quick. As soon as he was done helping us, he went and opened another cashier lane. Soon three lanes were open. I think that the staff is very conscientious. They saw the line of customers and immediately went to take care of them. They take the time to talk to you about what you are buying and help you with advice. They never make you feel like you're bothering them! Very nice staff.
