Great day trip. Comfortable water. Great scenery and hike.

As of 7/4/22, anyone starting Eagle Rock Loop needs to park at the nearby NFW 106 SW lot which is about two miles away. Leave your car there overnight and hike back this way. It's a dirt road for most of the drive to the lot, but it's the only overnight parking nearby. We left our cars in that lot for two nights and were fine. There are no fees and a vault toilet at that lot. But to review this area, it's nice! There are good swimming options and many picnic areas. It's a great family spot, especially if you live relatively close.

Gorgeous place, everyone misses camping there. It should have NEVER closed because of a freak accident, they never close hwys down because of accidents. Open it back up for camping

Have great memories of this place from my childhood. Visited the other day and it is as beautiful as ever. No thanks to the state though; trees down in the trails, bathrooms were horrible, trash piled high at the cans. I understand there was a tragedy here, but no one has shut down New Orleans yet due to flooding have they? It was slam packed with people, mostly Hispanic, don't know if that has anything to do with the state suddenly not caring about it. Take a picnic, make a day of it. It's still an awesome place to visit! Maybe the more people that show up the less they'll ignore it.

I would Google that question
Not at the camp grounds. They are not open. I wish they were! Really miss camping there
The place had been left as is by misplaced reverence to those who lost their lives there :'( ,,,Makes it a Double Loss doesn't it?
I was just up there about 2 weeks ago. Unless u have been there before then it might not be the place for u.. There is no over night camp in the public camp aerie at this time. Public aerie is for day use only. Not there is no warning sirens anywhere around there. The never has been . If u grew up around there and spent your summers there. Then just by the warning signs they had up there. U should know that if it start to rain. And your in the public camp ground. U best get what u can get in your car and move to high ground . Because it could rain for a few mins or it could rain for days. Sometime I have been the water rise so high in about 45 mins that stuff was floating around in the tent. It use to be a great place to camp and have funny. But now it just looks like no one even cares any more. They stopped taken care of it because of what happen in the last flood that took a lot of people's lives. God rest there souls.
