Amazing place. Every single person who works there is both professional and kind. I have donated several times now and I always had a positive experience.Thank you for your work

Usually no problem with this place! However yesterday on a return, machine was super slow and then stopped all together. I said to the lady that stuck me who was down the row if someone could come help me when they have a minute. Here comes some lady I didn’t know. She looks at the machine, I tell her the needle is pinching me ever so slightly on my right. She takes the needle ALL the way out of my vein and attempts to get it again. This was supposed to be a super slight adjustment. So she’s digging around in my arm and it hurts SO bad. I’m telling her it hurts, she doesn’t stop. I ask her if she can get someone else over to try. She goes “Oh it’s just gonna hurt again.” She goes back to pressing on my arm, and wiggling the needle around so I tell her to just go ahead I guess. She is supposed to be the one that knows what to do. I’m the most upset that she didn’t listen when I asked for someone else like 3 times. Then when they go do the other arm, she again doesn’t know what she is doing. I again ask her to get someone else. She keeps feeling my arm with the needle in it. I usually have no pain really donating but this was ridiculous. She was like unwilling to stop even though I asked for someone else. Eventually 2 or 3 more people tried and no one could get it. And of course that means they didn’t pay me the regular amount. I went home and iced both my arms and this morning I have a huge bruise on one of them. Maybe some training on listening to donors instead of just doing whatever you feel like? Maybe taking a beat if someone is telling you it hurts like a LOT?

I have been here four times and the people who work here are terrific!! They go out of their way to help and answer questions and genuinely care about the patients. It is always a clean, comfortable environment and knowing that you are helping so many people makes it all the better! Thank you everyone at Octapharma on 25th st. You guys are the best! Edit: Deb is terrific. You don’t even realize the needle is in because she’s so fast. She always does a great job and she is very friendly and polite 👍

Overall I didnt have any problems and the floor staff did a good job. I did have an issue about the last donation regarding the amount I was paid, at that time there was some promotion about the first five or so donations being compensated more than the standard compensation i believe was $50. My last donation $50 is what i was paid after waiting and calling the next day about it a lady said that was if the donation was in a 30 day time frame and that was not explained or mentioned to me before that day. The lady said she did tell me but she did not! After calling corporate and other locations someone made right and i was compensated the remaining amount. Since i live 40-50 minutes away it is not worth the gas and time for me to drive for $40-$50. it would be great to see a closer location out west or north so I likely will not be going back.
