This church took my money for confirmation, I attended every class turned in the required work and 2 hours before my ceremony Sister Rosa called my house and said I couldn't recieve my confirmation called my wife and I sinners and refused to listen. We followed the rules set by the church we were getting married at and committed no sin. I called to speak to someone and the office manger Anna discouraged me from speaking to the priest said she would call me back and I haven't heard a thing. I am very disappointed with how they treat members and fellow catholics. They just swept me under the rug and ignored my request. Don't go here, don't send your kids here unless you want to be denied because of there incompetent staff. In the end, I was told to accept their futility, and I will be judged for it. I must forgive. I can't get married now or be confirmed because of their mistake. Father asked me to forgive them, I did. But they waisted many weeks of my life. They didn't fix it, they denied my confirmation because of an office manager, and out of touch nun who doesn't connect with students. Very disappointed save your money don't hate the church this place is trash. I grew up catholic, attended catholic school and taught Middle School at a Catholic mission. This church has made me question my faith. Its not about your connection with god but who takes yiur money and checks your boxes. So fake

Boy, it seems like the "panties in a bunch" crowd is out in force. This little church serves a predominantly Filipino and Mexican population. VERY warm and humid, so get a seat near a door and bring a hand fan. Lots of Mass times, unbelievable confession opportunities, A poor parish run by an order not the diocese, but still, a nice place to spend an hour or so a couple times a week. Where to begin to counter the distortions? Maybe with, what have you done to enrich the community? Are you just there, notebook in hand, to jot down the slights and GIRM failures. If the latter, I suggest you take your notebook to Queen of Angels and see if the guys in charge of the diocese do a better job. Hint, no, the lapses are legend, so you might want to take that up with his excellency. Attire? You're sniping because their attire is TOO nice? Is this a joke? One can only wonder how you must present yourself. Dunderhead sermons? Perhaps not all in the pews all are biblical and liturgical scholars of your caliber, so the priests feel the need to speak to the faithful present. Regarding the light in the Adoration Chapel. Here's an idea. Contact the office about buying a suitable red hanging lamp. Make payments. Put your money where your outrage is. Oh, before you say they declined your offer, please understand if you do, I'll check. As for the other poster. With due respect, are you a parishioner or just a nice person hoping to get donations. If the former, I refer you to my initial question. What have you done? Are you a Knight, greeter, usher, volunteer of any sort? I did the cancer dance a few years back, so I appreciate your limitations, but please, appreciate the time limitations of others. BTW, it's a hokey little carnival, but it's been going on at the same time for decades. I believe Hueneme days is a veritable neophyte at 15 years. I started coming to Star of the Sea a couple of years ago, just for a change. I was kind of the ugly girl at the prom--no dance invitations. When the fiesta came about in August, I volunteered and donated. Guess what? I was on my way. I met a few people then a few more, and we all laugh at our communication failures. As a summer area resident, I also attend Santa Cruz and Mary Magdalene Church and Chapel. I must admit some partiality to the Camarillo church as it is air conditioned, but the Latin Mass at the Chapel is majestic and should be experienced by the orthodox.

I do not wish to discredit any one, but my review is based on my experience with the leadership is more than unfriendly, more like annyoed and could not be bothered. I was trying to see if they would allow me to do donations for Relay for Life. It was unfruitful after week one because the boss, was impatient, they had expected me to set up and put away, all while I was in the process of recovery from chemo. my hospice worker had already explaind this. Their "Knights" durring week 2 set up shop too with porcelain nick-nacks and Catholic Rosaries. Week 3 could not make it I had a relaps from my radiation treatment, my white blood cells dropped like water to a fish, I was recovering from my second transfusion. I felt so out of it i tried to catch the boss earlie via email and text but no avail. I had gotten a voice mail wasn't pretty. not my fault i couldnt come. I had decided that I took too big of a project and retreived my stuff. That was the last and only year I was team captain. This reiview It didnt help that they have a carnival every year aftter the ventura county fair right next door to the appartment complex, they may have a good intentions with it, but they should give the neighboring vacinity a break and tear it down durring the day not start at 3am
