I would never recommend this apartment complex to anyone. The property manager is extremely rude, as other reviewers have said, nice when you first meet her then rude when problems arise. Cheap rent, but I'd rather have great management than bad people running the complex.

I have lived at The Pines Apartments for almost a year now. I am a woman and I live alone. It has been a quiet, peaceful little oasis for me, and I love living here. The leasing staff is wonderful, my maintenance requests have been taken care of professionally and quickly and I have no complaints! We have a neighborhood watch program which we have regular meetings for and a Facebook group for. I feel safe, informed and a part of a community.

I dont recommend this apartment complex to anyone, ESPECIALLY if you have kids. Since we moved into these apartments my family and I have had nothing but bad experiences. We cant allow our daughter to play outside because it is constantly covered in cigarette butts, broken glass, trash and an occasional condom. Our mailbox has been picked open (along with others) several times, although ill give credit that the issue has been taken care of now. There is absolutely no reinforcement with the rules on loud music and/or drug use on the property- my 2 year old gets woken up on a nightly basis by people blaring their music either in the building or in the parking lot and there is a lovely aroma of pot smoke drifting up into our apartment from downstairs at least 3 times a week. We used to call the cops and report the above issues but nothing was done about. We seem to constantly have issues with our tub draining and our water smelling horrible- but if we report anything, we might as well fix it ourselves by the time maintenance shows up. Speaking of maintenance, the last time they had to come in and work on our kitchen sink, they completely wrecked my kitchen and my bedroom closet (where they had to drill thru my wall to get to the pipes for the kitchen) and left me to clean up after them and pick plaster and paint out of my carpet and off of my dresser in the closet. They've just let themselves into my apartment without my permission several times over the last year as well, sometimes i was home when it happened and sometimes i wasn't- talk about feeling safe in your own home, right?! A guy comes in once every couple months and checks for bugs... all he does is spray something under the sink and maybe in a few corners. More like an "eh, no bugs, you're good to go" kinda thing- which explains all of the spiders we've killed and the multiple times we've walked into the kitchen to see a rat! On top of everything, our toilet has been broken since last week and we have been calling the office since November attempting to give our 30 day notice, talk about the rat situation and get our toilet fixed, i have left several messages- we have yet to get a single call returned! I work during business hours so i cant just drop everything and stand in front of them to get their attention, so i guess ill have to keep calling and pay an extra month of rent when we move into our house January 1st since the office refuses to answer the phone to have an actual conversation. So this being said you’ve been warned.

My husband and I lived here shortly before we were married. We were easily some of the youngest tenants there, also from out of town. While living here we stayed across from one of the ladies who worked in the office. She was often in the courtyard late at night yelling about beating people up at the bar and all of that. It made us very uncomfortable to have interactions with this girl because she brought her attitude to work with her. Upon first moving in we were accused of smoking marijuana in the house, but we were gone the entire weekend that this happened. We got the notice when we got back MONDAY! Come to find out, the same office lady is friends with someone that was in our complex who smokes regularly and long term tenants know this. They knowingly accuse others and get them in trouble when complaints come about their "friends". I went in and talked to them about it immediately and this girl told me I was lying, but our trip fees and reciepts say otherwise. The last straw was when I was walking my dog and the maintenance man was FOLLOWING ME IN HIS GOLF CART!! When i made it obvious I saw him and went back to my apartment, he went to the front office... So I wrote my rent check for the month and took it down (good timing) AND NO KIDDING, this same guy was telling the office lady a lot of gossip about residents when I came in. None of what I heard was nice. Do what you will with this info, but be warned. I'd never recommend them to anyone .
