The camp hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly. They went around each night making sure everyone had enough firewood, made sure everything was ok. O even forgot a few items and the host was nice enough to provide. Unfortunately there were lots of bees at my site and nothing could get ride of them. Will try another time maybe when the bees move on

This is a beautiful place to camp. It could even be better with a little bit of TLC around the campground but that didn't bother us we had a nice relaxing time. The views are great and the camp hosts were very friendly too!

It is a very beautiful campground. We stayed at site 48 and had a big oak tree where we set up our tents. The table provided and fire ring were exposed to the open sky, but due the high fire warning, we were not able to have a camp fire. The residential bear, "Bucky" did not make an appearance, but we did see other wildlife which was pretty cool. No showers or running water at this time, so bring your own for everything.

Fantastic campground. Friendly staff. You can buy firewood at the host's site near the entrance. Their wood is light and burns a little quickly though, so i'd recommend bringing your own if you've got nice, dense fire wood on hand. The creek is beautiful and accessible for all camp goers. Highly recommend!

Was just up their this last Sunday evening. Creek running BUT very shallow. Friday and Saturday nights the place is PACKED but come Sunday afternoon the place dropped down to a half dozen sites! Really nice Sunday evening. NO running water. Trash dumpsters over filled Sunday evening. Gnats where heavy in the afternoon but where gone at dusk. No air movement Friday and Saturday so the camp ground smoke hangs around. I'd strongly suggest booking for mid week, weekends get crowded and crazy.
We have a number of double sites, they are 4&5, 9&10, 30&31, 36&37 . Good for up to 12 people, the nicest one I think is 36&37.
No cellphone reception so no data or phone calls/texting. No wifi. Weekebd camlers clear out by 2pm on Sunday. Grounds keeper and friendly and informative on whats available, give him a call.
Yes it reopened on the 12th., fills up fast so get there early or make a reservation
Use them
Hi Amy ive been to this place a few time you won't be sorry. It's 25 a night 2 spots where you pay 50 for group. It's in a national forest so if there isoverflow and you have a year pass that cost 35 or 40 for the year you can go across the street to a national Forrest visitor center there's a section thats not locked up and with the pass you sleep for free in the national forest for one night then you have to move. Will they ticket you if you move up 75 feet in the same parking lot ??? As far as getting a spot ??? My gestamation is 50 50 . If you can get there super early on Thursday but I know you can reserve spots. I will look for the number theres not many bad spots there for kids there are no bad spots WATER THERE IS NONE . TOILETS THOSE CREEPY VAULT ONES THAT I ALWAYS THINK A RACOON IS GOING TO COME UP AND BITE never mind. If I find a number ill get back to you but if you really want this thing to happen I'd go now buy the site through your weekend but that's me
No, no showers or running water as of October 2018. But there's a Von's grocery store about 15 minutes down highway 33 towards Ojai
No fires in entire Los Padres. Thomas fire made it devastating to even consider fires. Heavy fines 5000 bucks.
Yes. They have fcfs, but on Fridays, get there before 8-9am or else. Anytime as long as they have some availability. They are closing till March 2019 due to no fires or charcoal.
Go to recreation.gov, Do not attempt to walk in on a busy week. You will just disappoint yourself.
All plots can be walk ons, some plots are designated walk on and some can be reserved and walk on. Check if they are open! I think this campground reserves through recreation.gov
I would think so
Yes
Best to reserve. Not sure if they have 1st come 1st serve. 🤔
It's just a small Creek running there. I didn't see any fish.
Yes and it is $30 either if you stay the night or you leave. Check in time is 2pm and check out time is 12pm the following day.
Unless traffic has died down a bit, I think the only real chance of getting a first-come/first-served site is getting there relatively early in the morning and asking the camp host about potential check outs that day. In my experience this summer, nothing is actually available the day of, at least not by mid-afternoon, especially on the weekend. You may have more luck on an earlier weekday, however. This site has no cell signal whatsoever, so site availability is accurate within two days of arrival. That's why so many sites show as FC/FS - they weren't reserved in advance so there's no info on availability. Onsite, however, they have exact details and the availability will be much different
Yes there is water
Yes
Your welcome
He's right-- We just got back from #58 and it's the best in the park
No. There are no water pumps or spigots. There is a stream that you can get water out of but I would recommend to bring water to wash dishes with
We just drove thru last Saturday June 4th, they are definitely open but packed, book ahead! People were fishing also.
We are open as of the first of June but we are completely booked through the weekend ending the eight. You can make reservations at recreation.gov
They have walk up sites but will probably be gone Thursday morning
No tap water no electricity only pit toilet and water from the creek
We saw a few of them but I think they are harmless.
We were up this past Sunday (March 17th) and the stream was flowing beautifully. Everything was nice and green. Shorts & t-shirt weather expect it to get packed early.
Site 68 is on the out of the campground on the right hand side so its not on the creek, but it is a large open site with some shade and near a bathroom
The creek ran all year in 2018, right now (5/28/19) we have 4 water crossings to 2018’s 2. Granted they are not very deep and one of the creeks will most likely dry up before to long.
