Quite nice place. Distance between spots makes it kind of private. It’s sort of free. But you can certainly donate I assume.

This is a great camping spot! I could stand in one spot taking pictures all day! Quiet, relaxing and beautiful. I stayed in the Reyes Peak Campground at an elevation of 7,000. I would only recommend tent/camper camping. The road up is pretty narrow. Bring lots of water and trash bags you have to pack out your trash. No trash bins. A couple compost toilets. No running water.

Came up here for a long weekend of camping. Very beautiful and peaceful, but also isolated. There is no running water, or anywhere nearby to easily pick up supplies, so be prepared before you make the trek. The road up and down the mountain to the campgrounds is a winding one lane road, so drive slow as you may come around the corner to find someone trying to go the opposite way. We stayed in the first loop, which is technically pine mountain campground. The sites were nicely sized and gave some privacy. Comes with fire pit and grill, as you cannot bring your own grills up here. Trees provide nice shade but make note to bring bug spray because there are lots of bugs, especially in the morning. Again, amazing campground, the only reason I give it four stars is because of the bathroom situation. It is a vault toilet, which is one thing in itself, but the condition of the outhouse is horrific to say the least. You are better off bringing your own makeshift bucket toilet to do your business in. Hopefully one day they will update this with a more modern pit toilet and actually have a camp host attempt to clean it once in a while. Other than that, definitely worth a trip!
